I agree with you that clinical depression is a chemical imbalance...and he is self medicating with drugs and food.

But being belittled on national TV by your mother and sisters doesn't help matters, IMO.

Oh Yorkie, I forgot about poor Rob. I hope it doesn't drive him straight over the edge. Bless his heart, he's the forgotten one in that family.

Maybe Bruce's strength in finally being who he really feels he is, will help Rob to do the same - to find his own value separate from his family.

It does work for everyone. It has everything to do with belief. Some just do not believe. They do not want to believe or take the responsibility. They rather blame it on a medical condition. In this case with Jenner, he has practiced sin for so long his mind has probably become reprobate.
