Until I hear this from Bruce Jenner, I don't believe it.

If this is what he wants I am happy for him. I feel sad he had to wait so long to be who he really is. I am sure some people will have a problem with it and it is hard for them to understand but could you imagine the pain of being inside the body you think is the wrong secks? His denial caused him to lie, be deceitful, get married and have children under false pretense. I feel more sorry for his family and the people he hid it from.

I feel sorry for all of them. Using the word deceitful is very strong. First of all we don't know how long he felt like this and he certainly came from a time and even today it persists that people who do this are freaks. I certainly can't judge him because I haven't the slightest idea how terribly shameful that would be to carry around.

I have a friend who transitioned. He was black and raised in a strict Baptist family and he tried to kill himself 3 times rather than tell his family. He was terrified at how his family, church and community would judge him so he lived a lie for a long time and when he no longer could he tried to die. Would you have preferred Bruce do that?

Thankfully my friend found the strength to tell everyone. Now they don't think he is a freak for his secks change but they do think he is one for being a Republican.

There are many reasons a person transitions. There are men who transition to women to be with women. Each case is different. The human experience is so unpredictable and unique. I don't have an inkling to his personal life, but my guess is he was never deceitful to those who knew him. Something must have been evident to them. But who knows, I wasn't there. Thankfully! LOL!

However, I still stand by my statement, he has a really bad surgeon, or more than likely he wants certain facial changes he should leave alone. Winamac said it best, his looks are a bit bizarre . Too odd in MHO. But it isn't me, or my family,so it is his decision.

I am well aware of the information out there about this issue.

I still find it surprising that a person would CONTINUE to date, marry, have multiple children with more than one woman, be in the public eye, and wait until age 65 to do this.

I do agree that his youngest children have a real challenge coping with all they have had to.

A long time boyfriend had a brother-in-law (married to his sister) come out as gay after 10 years of marriage and 2 children. It devastated her and the whole family.

I have some problems with people making a TRAIN WRECK out of the lives of others who are innocent in their issues.

If it was acceptable to most of society, it wouldn't be a train wreck. It would be on a par with divorce, and people who felt they were in the wrong body would not feel they had to hide their real selves.

For most of American society (backed by a lot of polls & studies), there's no longer a stigma attached to coming out as gay. That's a good thing because the suicide rate has dropped, as has the time spent in therapy dealing with feelings of guilt and parental rejection.

Gay and trans people marry and have kids because they feel the pressure to appear normal. Because friends and family expect it of them.

They also do it because they feel ashamed of who they are, or because people have wrongly told them it's possible to change. They try. They fail. Many want to kill themselves because it didn't work.

The man we know, I told his story on this line, was told by the woman who fell in love with him that their church could change him. He had joined the church for that very reason. His wife had been told his proclivity before they married. He tried and tried and was treated for serious clinical depression. He finally told her he couldn't fake it any longer.

Once again, all that could have been avoided if only there was no pressure for El Gee Bee Tee people to change who they are.

This story was no surprise to me. I thought he looked ultra feminine even back in the Olympics. It was also obvious almost immediately after the marriage split that he wanted to look like a woman. I don't know how anyone could not have noticed.

It does bother me though, that he married, had children, etc., when he knew long ago. He could have remained a "bachelor" rather than mess with other people's lives. Very fraudulent behavior in my book.

As for those who feel sorry for him being rejected by some, if it bothered him that much, he wouldn't be doing a reality show.
