Is it going to be on television?
‎04-12-2021 09:26 AM
The ceremonial royal funeral will be held at St George's Chapel, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, at 15:00 BST on Saturday, 17 April. The event will be televised.
How much is televised in the United States will be up to each media outlet.
I suggest checking with your favorite news outlet to see how much programming they will carry.

Reading about Philip's life reminds me that titles and royalty come sometimes with many hardships as well as wealth and privilege. In many respects he had a hard life, especially as a child and sometimes as a royal.
He endured a lot of criticism (some fair, some not) and soldiered on and did not complain about it nor did he let others or what was said about him define him.
He accepted his job as second (or fifth) banana, and did it well and didn't seek or demand public acclaim or praise for it. He stayed his post: Often with good humor. And sometimes being so genuine as to shock us. Sometimes being ahead of the times in his thinking and causes.
I think there are things about the man that deserve criticism, but also a lot to be considered and some to be praised. He knew who he was. He was a tough old bird--and I always admire that.

While one might posit everyone will be on their best behavior and will do whatever they can to support her majesty, there are some family rifts that never fully heal. Many of us have experienced them. One might guess this will be one of them.

Well said @Sooner... It wasn't all a bed of roses and yet he stood his ground, never cut and ran and he stood the test of time... Historically, I wasn't terribly sympathetic toward Phillip, who often seemed curmudgeonly, at best, but the more I learned of him, the more I found to respect and to admire... Some might take a lesson...

@stevieb None of us knows what goes on behind closed doors or the dynamics of a family that we don't know. I think that Harry having to travel there and his grandmother's loss gives them an opportunity to heal their wounds.

According to the Daily Mail UK, a senior royal will accompany the Queen on all her official engagements now. She will resume her off-guard duties after the 8 day mourning period, which will occur the day after her 95th birthday.
