i'm watching the presentation for the TSV and the host and a number of the models appear to have no socks, no hose nothing on with their boots.

I might wear sandals or even flats with no hose or socks but I'm amazed that people wear boots with nothing. Could that be the reason that the sizes seem to be off these days?

Shoe stores all offer footies and the athletic shops even have disposable socks.   I'm not so sure I will go for the "as is" shoes that are probably returns.

Re: Boots with no socks?

[ Edited ]

They are ankle boots. It's possible they have low cut socks or peds on. I do that with ankle boots when I want some skin  showing

I thought of ankle socks, I've always been uncomfortable in boots rubbing my bare ankles, or showing a skin gap between boots and pants.  Brrrrrr.

The only boots I wear barefoot are my Uggs!

i rarely wear any type of sock when i wear boots. i just feel more comfortable that way. socks tend to make my feet feel claustrophobic.

UGG started the no socks with boots look when they lined their boots with sheepskin.  Cat Wink

Sure I'll wear boots without socks, if it's not cold.

It's because they are ankle boots and that's what people do and have been doing for quite a while now,  when they wear ankle boots when the weather is still mild they don't wear socks.  The shoe designers know that and the boots are smooth on the inside and finished nicely so no blisters or rubbing.  Also it's fashion "look" now;  some skin showing between the boot and the jeans or pants.  I haven't noticed any shoe sizes being "off" although as I aged (I'm 66) for some odd reason, my foot got a size larger.
