@cherry , Thank you for all the interesting information.I didn't know about St. John. Also didn't know how each country celebrated.

Here in Santa Barbara it is a big shindig. We have a fabulous parade and then a two day celebration in a park downtown. 

It is such fun. It started simply many years ago with a few old hippies nude with body painting. Can't get away with that now, but it is still such fun.

All home grown and fun zany costumes, family, friends, kids and old folks. It has become a big thing.

We are all one family on this crazy planet.
