I remember seeing Donna Dewberry (wasn't she on QVC or HSN?) paint flowers with just a few strokes.
My granddaughter thought I was the greatest for drawing Dora The Explorer in chalk on her driveway today. Dora is easy to draw.
Yes, he passed away in 1995.

Bob Ross was diagnosed with lymphoma in the early 1990s, forcing his retirement; The Joy of Painting's final episode aired on May 17, 1994. He died at the age of 52 on July 4, 1995.
I always enjoyed watching his show. Love the photo in post #20.

What's interesting about this picture is.... I can't remember a time when I saw him stand on that side of the canvas.

I used to watch him all the time on our local PBS channel, and Donna Dewberry whenever she was on (at one time she was on QVC quite a bit). I still have all the VHS tapes where I recorded all his shows and many of Donna's. I bought one of his painting sets, but life got me so distracted I never tried it.
Maybe I need to get out those old tapes - I still have a VCR...

I still like to watch his shows which are on our PBS sometimes. He was so calm and soothing it wasn't really about the painting so much. I remember reading he even has fans who are visually impaired, they feel uplifted and peaceful listening.![]()

Yes, I also recall Donna Dewberry..........Wasn't there some type of thick clear plastic sheet to place on something? For practice. Or am I dreaming/imagining it?

I remember watching Bob Ross and Donna Dewberry several years ago. Wasn't she the one who painted with two colors on the brush and made flowers really pretty like that?

Yes! The two colors on each brush stroke! I had forgotten about that!

You're right! And I just remember the studio was very drab, gray, kinda blah.
