Boards And New Year Resolution

Maybe with the new year starting we can all make a resolution to be open to other points of views, not get argumentative with others, and stick to the topic at hand. It would be nice if the moderators didn’t have to remove content or shut down a thread altogether. Happy New Year to all, here’s hoping we can all get along in the new year.

It's an admirable aspiration, but I fear there will always be those posters who argue for their own amusement.

Congrats to QVC for keeping this board "nice."  I never get poofed anymore, is it thanks to them or me?

I agree on this, but, remember the phrase, "majority rules".  I saw it in the posts the other day about Dan and his eating.  Everyone stood up for the most part for Dan.  It can be done.United we stand, divided  we fall.  It takes so little effort to be kind. You can even disagree kindly.

We need to keep them employed.

Re: Boards And New Year Resolution

I am accepting of differing points of view until/unless someone posts a nasty derogatory one akin to jr high bullying and then all bets off!!!  I don't feel they should be ignored and need to know others think their view is not merely an opinion but a derogatory statement.  It's all in the wording and some obviously mean to make fun of anyone who likes what they do not!!!  Kids in school are being taught to stand up to this type of behavior and not ignor it.  I have no problem with someone stating they do not like the look of a certain type of clothing and it's not for them but to state everyone looks ridiculous and trashy wearing something is making fun of those who do like and wear such items of clothing.

I am sure there will be more on New Years Resolutions over the weekend...

but I am going to try to be more grateful for what I already have .... for

instance ... I just sat down here wtih a perfectly clear ... clean glass of

water .. and realize many many people in the world don't even have that .....

@Pook

I agree. Been coming here for years, and then when I keep seeing the snarky 'baiting' replies, and just plain rudeness, I have to go away for awhile. Sometimes months. Most ppl here are kind, funny, informative, supportive, and worth listening to and interacting with.

It's like you said, can be very Jr high-ish, clicks, etc.

I'm my own person, I come here for a little diversion, share common interests, topics, experiences, and other things. It's pretty neat that we are 'talking' with ppl from all over the U.S and for the most part it's pretty fun to stop in.
