Well of course it matters.  It always matters to me if someone lies, or tries in any way to be something he or she isn't.   Besides, I don't like people trying to pull the wool over my eyes so to speak.   Who does?  That's why it matters and I have trouble understanding why it wouln't.

I don't mind at all if someone chooses not to reveal gender, but when someone claims to be something he or she isn't....I find that troublesome on many levels.  Why believe anything that person posts then?

If someone hasn't revealed their gender for whatever reason, it's not a lie.

As I understand the "correct" thinking on this - a person's gender is whatever they say it is - right?  So perceptions don't matter.

This thread isn't about not revealing gender.  It's about revealing a false gender.  Perhaps you should go back and re-read this thread because you are the one bringing up the issue of not revealing a gender.  That's perfectly find and not misleading or lying.  Claiming to be a gender a person isn't is misleading people and lying.  Big difference.  Can we get off the not revealing gender now? It's not relevant to this thread,. You have read things into my posts that aren't even there.
