Oh sure, I knew they could do that. I just wonder what happened here in the forums to warrant law enforcement involvement. I must have missed some posts or something.

nothing lately that I'm aware of. I keep my nose clean. LOL

Around Xmas we sometimes have some lulu's check in and cause trouble

surely, Q blocks them forever.

Those types could be people of interest.

@happycat I recall within the past 2 years that a couple of people wanted to contact each other off board and both posted their personal emails.

Those posts were gone in the blink of any eye.

@Love my grandkids Correct me if I am wrong, but, at one time, I seem to recall that personal emails were permitted on the board.

I can't even remember how many years ago the big board shakeup occurred.

@Mersha I've been here a long time and I personally can't remember personal info ever being allowed but maybe someone else does.

I've been here since about 2010 but there was a big mess with the boards at one time and all my previous posts and former nickname got deleted. This happened to quite a few people.

No one said anything happened here in the forums to warrant law enforcement involvement. It was just an answer to the OP's question - suggesting that would be the only way a poster's true identity would be revealed. Even then, it would just be revealed to the police, not to other posters, who would not know anything about it. All of this is just speculation in response to the first post.

I do recall, through the years, when a poster replied and it was obvious that they were having difficulty that needed immediate attention.

QVC was notified by posters and they took it from there.

Many, many years ago that was done here on the Forums. Some of the Posters are still in touch with each other. What they did was make up an email address for this purpose and once the person got the address and sent an email, the made up email address was deleted.
