1. you need good wifi

2. batteries last about 2 years , settings can be adjusted and that will use more battery if extremely sensitive

We have 15 Blink cameras installed around our property. We have had NO issues in the three years we have been using them. We get alerts whether we are at home or on vacation. The range is pretty good. Depending on the usage the cameras get will depend on your battery life. Our driveway gets a ton of use and the batteries usually last about six months. The night vision is not that great unless there is  other lighting nearby.

I bought the Ring Video doorbell about two years ago from Best Buy and they also did the installation. I have the app on my phone and I have never had any issues. I like when I'm away from home I can see what's going on and the price is reasonable !!!  The cost is 30 dollars per year if you want to keep the recordings, but it is not required.

I've always heard good things about the Ring cameras. I've seen so many of the videos online and on tv from Ring and they seem to cover a lot more and cover a lot better.  The video looks way better, too.

If I had had a choice in this thing I would have recommended this brand over the ones he bought.  Smiley Happy

I purchased mine about 3 years ago, 1 at front & back door, 1 on the garage & 1 on the roof (to monitor raccoons who keep destroying my roof).  They have worked flawlessly.  The batteries do NOT last 2 yhears for me but probably 9-12 months even in the very cold midwestern winters we have.  I also got my son a set the same time I got mine...he actually turned one of his videos over to the police when there was a rash of garage burglaries in town and it ended up on the news!  At night you won't see as far out into the yard as during the day ...if you want to capture wildlife you need to have a light on.  Since I live in a very rural area I've caught coyotees, raccoons, a fox and possums along with countless cats on or near the deck in the front of my house. I have no regrets and would recommend them anyone.  For the price you can't beat them.

@sann   You can also download your videos instead of paying extra for Ring to keep them.

@sann   Ooops. Sorry I'm sure you knew that.  I quoted you by mistake and starting posting to someone else and then erased most of it and then hit "post".

We have six of them on our house.  Got them when they were the TSV last year.  We really liked them in the beginning.  This i year two of having them and we're constantly changing batteries.  It seems they are eating up batteries more and more.  And there have been one or two that have been giving up a lot of problems.
