Bird nests

Swallows have built and left nests on our enclosed porch for years. If we remove it they are back in the spring to rebuild it. They leave huge messes and there are several baby birds born throughout the spring and summer. This year has been the worse. There is a huge territorial fight over the nest. As soon as one lays her eggs another bird flies in and literally throws the eggs out and the mother bird flies back in and the feathers are every where. The porch is a constant mess and it breaks my heart to go out and see the broken tiny eggs on the floor of the porch.

I just talked to my husband and we are taking it down tomorrow. We have a power hose and we are hosing it down and we are going to tape a glittery strip up that will hopefully discourage anymore nests being built.
