@Pearlee wrote:The real problems in this case was that it was a "he said, she said" situation without a lot more proof, and that the accuser continued to see Bill Cosby. I don't think that has to do with men or women being on the jury. The burden of proof in criminal cases is with the prosecution. If the jury isn't sure whom to believe, it has to find not guilty or if it can't decide it's a hung jury as in this case.
The accuser continued to see Bill Cosby?
And they were hoping for a guilty verdict? SMH

I believe it is a tough case to proove! I am not so sure that another trial will have a different outcome!
It would not bother me if they just let it be and save the taxpayer money! He has already paid the price of his reputation being destroyed forever and also his wife and family have suffered the embarassment! I always feel for family members of those accused of terrible crimes!

I think it's highly unlikely a retrial will yield a different result unless new evidence is presented. The first trial was very expensive for Montgomery County taxpayers. If I were one of them, I wouldn't be happy with the DA's decision to do it again. They say "Bill Cosby" was a big part of his 2015 election bid, so he may feel obligated to push the case as far as he can.

Even if found guilty - which is unlikely - the most he would get is home incarceration, wearing an ankle monitor.
Sometimes it's not about the punishment. It's about being held accountable.
As someone who saw up close the way this man treats women, I don't care all that much about his sentence. I just want him to be found guilty.
The previous jury was made up of 7 men and 5 women. I think men tend to cut other men just a little more slack in these cases .... the old benefit of the doubt. I think if the jury had been predominantly women, BC would have been convicted. Just speculation on my part, but I think a predominantly male jury was a big contributing factor there.
I'm pretty sure it's been proven that women are a lot harder on their gender during rape trials for various reasons.

@Lapdog wrote:Here's an idea.
How about saving all the money spent on a new trial.
Instead, take all his money away. ( I am assuming he still has some.) They can live on SS.
Then, split all the money between the victims.
That way, he can be incarcerated at home, saving the tax payers gobs of money especially considering all the extra expense needed guarding him from harm in the joint.
@Lapdog Since he has not been convicted of one assault this really goes against everything our justice system stands for-I am sure you cannot be serious.
Innocent until proven guilty-it's better than the other way around, no matter how despicable the person and his/her actions.

@Reever, there are many comments on this thread about Cosby's attitude.

Cosby hasn't had the luxury of sitting around with his feet up, waiting for his next performance in the November trial. There is at least one civil case going on .... with Gloria Allred representing several women which started last month. Not sure where it stands as of this moment.
The scheduled cases go into 2018.

I have a feeling the outcome will be the same.

I'll be honest I am not sure he will ever be convicted of anything due to the span of time that has occurred but I can't say it ruins my day to know he will probably be chased around with various lawsuits until one of the participants in said lawsuits are no longer here.

@momtochloe I assume you mean one of the parties?
