@Goodie2shoes wrote:I can't believe the delivery driver did this !! I ordered No Sugar cups from Amazon ( chocolate keto low sugar) They were to be delivered today. I have a ring doorbell and a outdoor camera on my patio. While looking at my ring camera video about 6 pm I see my neighbor walk in the building and place a box in front of my apartment door. I'm wondering what it could be because I had no video of Amazon delivering my package so I get the box, and it's my No Sugar cups. I open the box and the cooling pack is melted, no sugar cups melted, box is warm.
So I check my outdoor camera and I see the delivery driver walking up to the front of the building with a box on his shoulder. It's the only video of anyone with a box and it's about 30 minutes prior to my neighbor placing the box at my door. ( it's 91 degrees outside) HE LEFT THE BOX OUTSIDE !!! The box was labeled PERISHABLE !!
I was so upset !! I called Amazon to file a complaint and was told Fedex delivered my package. I called Fedex, they apologized said they will talk to the driver ! What ? I'm filing a claim for a replacement or refund !! Sorry for the long rant, I just had to vent. I can't believe the driver would leave a package outside in 91 degree heat when all he had to do was walk inside the apartment building and leave it at my door. They do that all the time !! Plus the box was marked perishable !!! So nice of my neighbor to bring in the box or I would not have known it was delivered. Wouldn''t you be a bit upset ? Just sayin
@Goodie2shoes Honestly? I'd be disappointed. Not upset enough to post about it or give it much thought. I'd contact the seller on line and go on with life.
Upset? Nah. That's for bigger problems. Nobody's hurt. Nobody's out of a job (except maybe the delivery person).

@CalminHeart said: Do you have accounts and preferences/alerts set up on fedex.com and ups.com? If not, do it and they will email or text you when a package is out for delivery and when it's delivered.
In addition to the foregoing when you set up your accounts you can specify where you want the packages to be placed. At front door for example.

Wowee, unreal.
These drivers are so uncaring and as far as reading, they read at a kindergarten level. If you're lucky enough to get one that can do better.....
When I was working my bosses loved me BECAUSE I went the "extra mile." That seems to be something that's been forgotten.
I'm a dying breed. You'll have to go a long way to find workers like that anymore.
Person that had their order wrecked......again....hope your new order is aces. If you got it from here, they would send you a new order pronto. I've always gotten wonderful customer service from QVC. Amazon will replace it though....this is funny....I'll try to cut this short...my husband ordered a TV from Amazon but he firmly stated the date he wanted it and they agreed. Well, that got muffed so he ordered another. They sent it on time but the other TV arrived. He said I'll send that one back. Amazon didn't want it ! LOL....hahahah I said.....I don't want it! Amazon said...give it to the trash man. Oh man...I was cracking up! My husband said..okay I'll take it.. Imagine that....no one wanted a new TV! I still laugh my head off thinking of it. Again......hope your new order is aces.
Good grief!! What a great way to disparage every delivery person. While that one the OP had was probably fired or disciplined for doing a very poor job, there are thousands out there that do a fabulous job.
I live on the ground floor of a garden apartment where the "lobby" is an open-air common area. If ever a delivery person wanted to be lazy or do a lousy job it would be here.
I get deliveries at least 5 out of 7 days a week from various places. Lots of my deliveries are auto-deliveries of food products, so proper delivery is key. In the past 9 years I've been here, I can probably count 2 maybe 3 times the delivery went wrong out of incompetence.
My delivery people, all different, not the same one person, are exceptional. They work their butts off under extremely tight time constraints, in all kinds of gruesome weather.
I surely wouldn't want the job.

Moral of the story, don't order anything that can melt in summer heat.
I learned my lesson last week ordering a Covergirl concealer stick from Amazon, it wasn't pretty.

I don't see any reason to be upset about this. Amazon will make good on the product. Stuff happens. These delivery people are busy and I doubt they even look at the boxes, they probably look at the address, drop the box and move onto the next.

@Goodie2shoes @I learned my lesson last summer. Ordered a box of Hershey candy bars that arrived melted. Amazon refunded immediately. Never order chocolate in summer. My FedEx delivery person and my UPS driver r very nice and helpful.

I can only speak to what I would do, have done. When I am anticipating a perishable delivery, and I get lots that are perishable at all times of the year, I watch, check and keep on the lookout for the delivery. Now if I saw a delivery being made to my building I would not wait for a thud outside the door. I would immediately check online the status, I would head to the entrance to check, I would be proactive...because it could be my pershiable item.

@FLGators wrote:I wouldn't blame the delivery guy even though the box said perishable. They deliver 100's of boxes & I don't expect them to read what's written on every box. What they should be doing is taking care of boxes with special instructions..
The sender should have made sure it required a signature. Amazon or the seller will cover the cost unless you or seller paid extra & fedex screwed up,

Here's my theory .........
(I receive meds with ice packs every calendar quarter. The drivers usually try to deliver those first or early in the day so they can be rid of them.)
I'm guessing Fedex made a mistake with it not being delivered faster, and the driver delivered it next door hoping to cover the mistake.
Unfortunately for them, bar codes and tracking let us know what's happening.

Should not be shipping in hot weather. Delays happen everyday. Also since when is Amazon using FedEx. Have only seen third party vendors go that route.
