Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

@Goodie2shoes   It still sounds like none of your candy was melted.  "I open the box and the cooling pack is melted, no sugar cups melted, box is warm". Just put "sugar cups were melted".

Not wise to order candy that might melt during summer.  Many companies won't even ship it.

Just for clarity, I would call them No-Sugar Cups.

Is Amazon issuing a refund or replacement? It seems like quite a bit of angst over a box of candy.

Did you call the candy company? Do they garauntee ice pack still would be cold? No way all the melting happened for being 30 min outside your building. I doubt Fed Ex trucks are refrigerated. Was it sent ground? 2 day? Or overnight?

Hard to tell from rant in writing...I hope you didnt scream at FedEx on the phone. Im in Customer Service for a different kind of service and believe me, when someone starts screaming at me or cussing, im sure to move slower and less wanting to help. Be kind and rational, ill bend over backwards for you.

Breathe deep. You are worked up and that is bad for your blood pressure. Its candy.not life-saving medication.  Plus you ordering chocolste with record heat going on was a risk. Im surprised they shipped it.

Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

I'm sorry this happened.

Do you have accounts and preferences/alerts set up on fedex.com and ups.com? If not, do it and they will email or text you when a package is out for delivery and when it's delivered.

FedEx and UPS delivery drivers are NOT responsible for ringing your doorbell and standing there til you answer unless you paid extra for that kind of delivery if the seller offers that option).

I order seafood from Alaska and am alerted to the delivery so know when it's going to arrive.  I pay attention to more than just my Ring doorbell. Why? Because that's my job, not the deliverer.

Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

@Goodie2shoes I don't care what was in the package.

If a delivery person has the option of setting a package in out of the weather it seems like they should.

These days people order everything. Medication. Food.

FedEx was terrible for a while. They could NOT get a package near my house.

I live in the country.

Back a clearly marked driveway.

I have a mailbox with our address.

Part way down our long driveway, but visible from the road we have a large box with our address marked on it that says "Deliveries" or they can drive back the driveway.

All of these notes were in my FedEx account.

They would deliver across the road, down the road....

They have finally figured out where I am.

But if you don't complain they don't know.

Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

I wouldn't blame the delivery guy even though the box said perishable. They deliver 100's of boxes & I don't expect them to read what's written on every box. What they should be doing is taking care of boxes with special instructions..

The sender should have made sure it required a signature. Amazon or the seller will cover the cost unless you or seller paid extra & fedex screwed up,

Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

Her order WAS damaged and I don't blame her.  That was a really unintelligent thing to do.  He puts it by her door and then puts it outside in that heat when it distintcly says perishable????

I'd rant too.  If your order was damaged you would want a replacement too.  Anyone would.

I caught a Fedex guy eating his dinner in front of our house and when he was done he pitched his trash all on the ground.  I FLEW out of the house and told him....now, pick all that up NOW.  He said oh, yeah.....he didn't..  I picked it up and was about  to slam it inside his truck and then he sprang into action to get it.  I mean, why can't we be more considerate and caring????  That's what I don't get.

Rant away, hope your new order was aces!

Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

It's 110 plus where I live and we know better than to order anything perishable from May until October. I don't care how many ice packs you put in it, they will be melted and the product will not be usable. We used to have wine on auto delivery from California and even though they are packed with ice packs, it still sat in the back of the truck for over 12 hours. When we open the package, the wine was bad.

Re: Big Issue with Fedx delivery

Seems like a lot of anxed over a box of candy?  She didn't get it free.  I know if it was anyone else they'd be flipping out.

Wowee, unreal.

These drivers are so uncaring and as far as reading, they read at a kindergarten level.  If you're lucky enough to get one that can do better.....

When I was working my bosses loved me BECAUSE I went the "extra mile."  That seems to be something that's been forgotten.

I'm a dying breed.  You'll have to go a long way to find workers like that anymore.

Person that had their order wrecked......again....hope your new order is aces.  If you got it from here, they would send you a new order pronto.  I've always gotten wonderful customer service from QVC.  Amazon will replace it though....this is funny....I'll try to cut this short...my husband ordered a TV from Amazon but he firmly stated the date he wanted it and they agreed.  Well, that got muffed so he ordered another.  They sent it on time but the other TV arrived.  He said I'll send that one back.  Amazon didn't want it !  LOL....hahahah  I said.....I don't want it!  Amazon said...give it to the trash man.  Oh man...I was cracking up!  My husband said..okay I'll take it..   Imagine that....no one wanted a new TV!    I still laugh my head off thinking of it.  Again......hope your new order is aces.
