@manny2 .......and I agree with you........Aldi's chocolate is better than most of the others out there. I have a filthy rich relative who goes there ( to Aldi ) and buys them out...........so rude. When they are finally on to him, they'll impose a limit lol.

Russell Stover is decent. Quality Candy used to be good but I don't know if they are still around.

See's, rum nougat is my favorite, but DD loves the truffles so every Christmas I give her a box.  One can make a customized order.

How old is your granddaughter?

The reason I ask is that my parents were big fans of See's Candies and their products became a part of my high school and college years.  There was always See's in the house.

When I went off to college (late 70s) I'd occasionally get a notice inside my mailbox that there was a package for me at the Post Office.

My parents would send me a box of See's strawberry creams.  I'll never forget that.

Happy memories. Heart

Love Sees, Godiva too.  If you are thinking grocery store chocolate, I like Dove. I think we should all go buy a sampling of the different brands and do a taste test. It would be fun for a girls get-together.

It's funny because there was no See's Candies when we moved out here.  Then I found out they'd discontinued the strawberry creams.

One day a store opened in Albuquerque and now strawberry creams have reappeared.

Haven't had anything from See's Candies in a very long time and I always wonder if it'll taste the same.

I guess there's only one way to find out...

I'm a big fan of Lindt. I go to their website and buy the pick your own mix.

love strawberry cream candy. I usually get them (not Sees as we don't have that brand here or at least I've never seen it in local stores) at Easter when the chocolate eggs are out. Brach's makes them in the strawberry cream. I stock up with a half dozen since they are expensive.
