This wedding is pure love from the couple, the parents, and especially the grandparents.  They made this wedding with the tiara and the dress something completely different than all the others in a time where our worlds are different.

I saw only one photo over the weekend and of course just due to Andrew not being in the shot the tabloids were reporting he was not there.  Why do people fall for that nonsense.

I am so happy for the couple.  I guess this just leaves Edward's two children left single.  Thanks @KingstonsMom

@KingstonsMom Have you any idea what those "glamping pods" looked like?  I just did an internet search and wasn't able to find anything that would be appropriate for a royal wedding.  I'm curious what the guests would have chosen to spend the night in instead of a hotel or the mansion.

I guess the bouncy castle was for his son, but seems to be an odd choice for a wedding.

A beautifully done small, intimate, scaled back royal wedding. This had to be more personal and fulfilling than the usual royal media events. I love the dress, and while I do feel it could have been updated more pleasingly, that's a matter of individual taste. The flowers were sumptuous and beautiful. Of all the queen's tiaras, this one is among my least favorites, so I wouldn't have chosen in, but understand there is significant history and sentimental value. This cutie is probably my favorite royal groom... Love that he wasn't decked out in some toy soldier vibe, complete with epaulets, braids and so on...

stevieb,

Adore your account of this wedding!  We are in agreement on all points of "serious concern," but your concluding sentence forced a laugh from my wooden morning self.

Can you imagine when the Queen slipped this gown on in 1962 having no ideal a precious granddaughter would wear it one day.  I love the entire event.

The close up pics of her dress have me liking it even more.

It is sweet in a princess-like way yet sophisticated.

It sounds like a beautiful wedding, and they appear so happy!

I would much prefer their wedding, to those huge productions.  Their version, is more intimate, more what I think of as a wedding, rather, than a show.  And I'm guessing,a good bit less stressful, for the bridal pair!

I don't love  her gown, but I'm not the bride, and she looked beautiful in it!   The grom  wasn't unattractive, himself!
