That happened to my aunt.  She was staying at a place in Colorado in the mountains.  She'd baked a pie and left it out to cool and went to take a nap.  She was aroused by a loud ruckus in the kitchen.  It was a bear that had eaten her pie and was taking the kitchen apart.  He'd come in through the screen door.
