Are Ben Franklin bookstores still around?

I just remembered one and  crowded narrow aisles and a tad disorganized it was so that often a clerk had to get a book you wanted.

I don't know if that was a chain but I remember the floor dipped a bit and  was made out of real hardwood, polished, and I remember how it smelled.

Anyone remember Crown bookstores?  It sold paperback books and magazines at a discount.  The stores went out of business because of a divorce

I sure miss book stores, all of them in our town have all gone out of business. I  always loved browsing and buying in them! Now I buy most all of my books at Target.

I enjoy an afternoon at Barnes and Nobel, but I love an afternoon at the library more.  We have a huge wonderful library in our community.  I support them as my favorite charity!  Quiet, and a great selection, and all for free. Our library is open 7 days a week, in the summer, 6 days a week.  

I was never a book collector.  A friend sometimes would spend a day of her weekend reading new books cover to cover.  I just didn't have the space to store excess books.

Barnes and Noble is always busy where I live.  It is always a nice atmosphere and their customer service is great.

I love Barnes and Noble!!! I love to read... My granddaughters love to go with me when they visit..They have such a nice kids section and sometimes ours will have Magic shows for kids, or story hour... Lots of nice gifts and a great little snack area too...We usually spend over an hour there for sure when we go!!!
