The Queen wants this fiasco resolved and over in quick time and I hope she gets her wish. The constant stories and articles and opinions and rumors and lies serve no purpose except to keep us all entertained. We'll never know the true story, the whole story because while Harry and Meghan most certainly will go public with their side after they have exited "the firm". The firm most certainly will never address any of it publicly. Honestly, I think there really is only one "side". Harry and Meghan wish to disengage themselves and to live their lives on their own terms and they want the right to make their own money. The firm has to figure out how to make that happen as quickly as possible to end the abysmal stories in the press and so that they can all get on with their lives.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. In addition, I find it almost humorous to see posters on this site rail either for or against Harry and Meghan and assign 'blame' when they have no information based on knowledge of the situation or those involved, only in their own opinions based on nothing.

It wouldn't matter what the couple did. Britain has a harsh media and a judgmental public. They resent the royals, but given the option, they want to keep them in the manner they have been accustomed. Meghan has two things working against her in that society: she's American and she's mixed race, both points of derision for many in the country. Before Diana and Fergie, they ripped Margaret apart, and princess Anne took her share of abuse as well. They abhored Wallis Simpson, even though SHE was NOT the one who was a Nazi sympathizer. I admire Harry and Meghan for wanting to generate income on their own and for still doing their duties to the royal family as well. They want to raise their child with a less insular view of life as well. How dare them want what they think is best for their child.

@reiki604 I think under any circumstances people will always have opinions for or against on most topics and that, thank goodness, we are free to express them is human nature.
Having grown up with there always being a Royal Family in my life. Our now Queen and her parents were there with us during the War in London and the Queen has been there most of my life. Several members of DH and my family have served in military and we still have members working with the Royals so yes we do have opinions - mine being disappointment at the way these two very privileged people handled their situation.
I agree with @chrystaltree let them be off there should be no part-time Royals do the job or go - step down, be independent end this silliness.

@dulwich of course people have opinions and they should be based in some sort of reality. Opinions about a situation is one thing. To blame and give motivations to an individual one does not know is more than unfair and unjust. Given your background, your opinion is based on experience. That's a totally different thing than the bad-mouthing that has happened on these boards on a regular basis.

I was more supportive of Harry and Meghan until I saw that Oprah has inserted herself into the whole situation....ridiculous! She is even more full of herself than I thought, and Harry and Meghan not as bright as I thought if they are looking to her for guidance in their life decisions. I think it is officially silly season at Buckingham Palace.
@lovesrecess Oprah is denying inserting herself into the situation.

Are Meghan and Kate they same age? If so, there is a real contrast in maturity, naïveté, and self-centeredness. I feel so sorry for baby Archie who has been left with a nanny for weeks at a time while Meghan goes off too “find herself”. If she wants to live free from the royals, that’s fine, but she shouldn’t be taking Harry and her baby down with her. Harry was vulnerable when she ,arrived him and she has taken advantage of him in a big way. Sounds like they fancy themselves as Hollywood moguls.....and expect to still have financial benefits from the U.K. as well as their titles. I hope Meghan’s title is the first one to be yanked.
When did Meghan leave her baby for weeks at a time to find herself? She and Harry and the baby have been on a six week break in Canada together. She and Harry returned to England three days ago on Tuesday to make their annouincement and left the baby in Canada with her best friend. Meghan has already returned to Canada. So she left her child somewhere between 2-3 days. We are all entitled to our opinions but facts are stubborn things.

Harry is not the first man, nor will he be the last, who has an older brother who will be king. No pass from me about his feeling "less than" or the mental illness or he lost his mother. He's not the first person who can claim those things.
Maybe he needs to read a little history.
