Hi Sue - yes that was supposed to be a cake of a natural area with a fence on it.

Here's what I found on Wikipedia for Sweetest Day. I never thought of it as just a Romantic Holiday or anything - I often bought candy for my parents. More like treating people you like to something nice.

Sweetest Day is a holiday celebrated in the Midwestern United States, and parts of the Northeastern United States, on the third Saturday in October.[1] Sweetest Day has also been referred to as a "concocted promotion" created by the candy industry solely to increase sales of sweets.[2] It is also a day to bestow romantic deeds or expressions.[citation needed] Eleven states and parts of two states observe Sweetest Day: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and areas of both New York and Pennsylvania west of the spine of the Appalachian Mountains

Sue, would you believe almost all was eaten except a tad of roast beef and Shannon finished that tonight. Kids went up to the high desert with Davey and Tessa's sister's sister - yes another sister and the little one. I THINK Shannon is going to San Bernardino tonight - will be heavenly to have the house to myself. Well almost to myself as a multitude of furbabies will be here with me. That's ok, they usually behave. I think Victoria et al, will be back tomorrow and a bunch is heading to the PUmpkin Patch. Not me however!!!

A bit warm tonight and I do NOT like that - was use to our super cool nights - am sure it will hit by 3 in the morning however.

Stripes is really avoiding me lately and as usual that bothers me. I miss that big macho boy. He really is scarce at nighttime and often he does condescend to come in and visit during the day.

Need to check the kitchen to see how it looks. EArlier I was in there and picked up a lot of stuff the younger ones just cannot seem to put where it belongs. Will probably turn the dishwasher on as I know no one is here to keep dirtying up dishes. LOL.

Hope all have a great day. Sue, don't recall NannyBear visiting the Back Fence often but I sure liked her. Betty also visited her in Florida also - she was such a beautiful lady. Several former posters I have really missed. REmember Chatty Nancy or was it Nancy Chatty. Another one a tad rough around the edges but again I really liked her.

Hope all had a great day and will have an even better one tomorrow.

no doubt chatting with mine, BirdMama as they fly around who knows where{#emotions_dlg.crying}so thanks for the carrott cake. Thanks for the Sweeness Day info; I think most holiday's are started by somebody wanting to make mondy.

today I was useless pretty much; did manage to have deli ham sandwiches for supper and that's about it ....easy and good.

sorry I missed out on the roast beef Freddie, but glas you guys enjoyed all of it. Hope you enjoyed your day of solitude and hope you have many more.

it was overcast here all day and got a few sprinkles, but that's about it. The golden leaves are falling all over the yard and patio and are so lovely. but I hate to know it's announcing that it's the end of this lovely time of year. Jim's trying to get the kitties sleeping quarters all fixed up before the weather gets bad; as I told him today we could have snow tomorrow - ya never know what might happen weather wise in these parts.

epi, still in that beautiful VA country?

meuw, where art thou?

Happy Monday all. Sue

It was 75 here yesterday. A gorgeous day. This morning it is raining and supposed to turn very cold. Wouldn't you know I have an appt for a pedicure this afternoon I'm gonna get wet feet. But my ingrown nail tells me I gotta go anyway. I don't have to go far and when I come home I can just pull in the garage. Been pretty quiet around here. I got an email thanking me for the order of a Christmas tree. When I cassed CS they had a recording saying if I was calling about Christmas tree to just ignore. Later yesterday afternoon I got an email apology I wonder what happened and how many Cristmas trees they ""sold""

Yock, I'm thinking a lot of people got that email. I received one also and could not get through the busy phone to call about it. I got the email also. Well, thr weather was wonderful all weekend and the trees were lovely. but I did not enjoy too much of it as I was in constant pain the whole weekend. my fibromyalgia was really acting up. but, it was nice to get away and we had a nice time visiting with our daughter. Her and my hubby went target shooting, on her property. she brought back the targets,paper, to show me how good of a shot she is. Hitting the target more than once in one spot. My hubby was in law enforcement for 22 years and she was happy to do better than him, LOL!!! Spent a while out on our deck this A.M., was almost 80dg, and just perfect, with cool nights. I will not have to give out treats this Halloween , I hate it anyway. Daughter and I are going to go see/hear Fleetwood Mac. It is my late birthday present from my daughter. Imust remember this week to get my flu shot. I usually go to C VS, but am a little late this year. everyone stay healthy!!!

i got the apology 1st and then got the order e mail very strange

phone company finally came and buried the cable they left in our back yard nearly three weeks ago....note they didn't do it without a phone call from us. I have a feeling if we hadn't called it would have stayed unburied from now on and by the way we were told if it wasn't buried within 31 days we'd have to pay to have it buried............uh uh oh no; not in this lifetime

Happy Tuesday all. Sue

I think a lot of people got that dumb email about the Christmas tree. I was really nervous because about a year ago someone somehow did order a $2000 plus camera on my QCard. Interesting. The email thanking me for the order was a clue and I called immediately. Whoever did that put their home address to have the camera shipped to. That was good for me but dumb for them as I suspect they had the police knocking at the door. Well, that is more than fair. I have been eternally thankful that the Q does send that order confirmation out via email.

Am really tired so will call it quits. HOpe all had a great day.

I do not even have anything to leave to munch on. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Hello all - I never received the Christmas tree email. Now I feel like I am missing out (lol)

I went for a mammogram last Friday, found out Monday that it was incomplete (something suspicious) scheduled an ultrasound on Tuesday, went for the ultrasound and also got the results (posted to MYchart) on Wednesday.

Everything is fine - I still cried for 10 minutes out of relief. Silly me - guess I got my Halloween scare a few days early {#emotions_dlg.sneaky}
