@DrakesMomma  I had thought that your child's last name was Drake, like my five children. Other kids would call them "Drakes Cakes".

A pastor at a nearby church was Alden Drake. (No relation)

@VanSleepy  Luna is the name of my grand daughter's chihuahua. I've never heard of a person named Luna.

I thought that it was odd when My grand daughter named her dog.

I had only heard of it in referrence to the moon or in lunatic.

If you go to sporcle.com, you can do quizzes on baby names back to the 1800s. Sporcle is one of my favorite game sites.

Emma and Olivia have been topping the lists for years now.  Seems most people I know have a granddaughter with one of those names and one has twins with an Emma and an Olivia.  It is like when my kids were little if they called Ashley or Katie in the waiting room of the doctor's office half the room would stand up.

My mother named me after a popular actress (ugh...that never goes well). Before I got married I went to court and changed it. My parents still called me by my birth name until they passed.

Not crazy about any of the girls names.  Not at all, would never choose any of those.     Boys names are okay.

I liked very few names.  I wonder if they from family trees, books, perhaps tv.  Hmmmmm.....

old-fashioned names have become popular the past ten years or so

Eveline was my grandmother's name and she was born in 1901. Now it is popular but with a different spelling.

I had a black cat named Luna.

My friend's new granddaughter is named Ruby.

Look back at your grandparent's names....many of them are becoming common again.
