That's almost a year away.  Anything can happen but even if there is a trial; I truly believe he'll be found not guilty or there will be a hung jury.  Like it or not, there is no proof of any type that he did anything to anyone.  I don't see 12 people on a jury convicting him on allegations from 40 or 50 years ago.  Even that last case that he settled out of court is not a slam dunk because the victim back tracked on her settlement and puts her crediblility into question.  She took the money and kept silent for 10 years and then came out when the publicity began.  Why?  Looking for more money than she took 10 years ago?  The jury is not going to be made up solely of older women.  Men and younger people won't view this the way that 65 year old women do.

Maybe she "came out when the publicity began" because other women  coming forward gave her the strength to do so.

I'm sick of hearing that rape victims are just money-grubbers.

I'm a bit fuzzy on this but I was pretty sure that it wasn't the woman but the District Attorney that re-opened this case.   Someone here will know.

I think that's a possibility, too.  I wonder about the law that a wife can't be forced to testify against her husband.  Has that changed?

I don't know, Noel.  I hadn't thought about that.

Re: BILL COSBY TO STAND TRIAL!

There are various time lines available online about the who and when of the accusations.

I'm pretty sure I read one accusation supposedly happened 17 years ago and came within the legal limit, but I don't see a report on that.

I recall something about her wanting to invoke "marital priviledge"  but the rebuttal was that, as his business manager, she was critical to questions about his career and business dealings, as well as verification as to where he was on any given day.

That makes sense.  This wouldn't fall under "a spouse is just a spouse" then.

I just hope he doesn't croak before the trial starts.

I think that's exactly what will happen. His attorneys will keep stalling, make appeal after appeal, until he either dies or is so infirmed that he'll never see the inside of a prison.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
