Re: BATGIRL is Dead

My husband apparently watched this as a kid because he informed me of this earlier today.  I'm sure the expression on my face was priceless.

Sorry she passed away but didn't know who she was...I never watched.

Well. I never saw it in first run. I was just a little baby then. Smiley Happy

I was more of a Charlie's Angel's-era person.

But I suppose that without 60's camp Batgirl, there may have been no 70's Charlie's Angels. So one must pay homage where homage is kinda-sorta due.

Given a choice between 60's Batgirl and 70's Wonder Woman, though (maybe better equivalents), I'd always have to go with Wonder Woman. I mean, who was MORE spectacular than an actual comix than Linda Carter in that role?

To this day they can't re-create that moment of super power embodiment of WW as Linda Carter did.

And to all my tiaraians: Note the tiara. Maybe that's where it all started...

 LOL I was thinking, Alicia Silverstone can't be dead? I don't even remember batgirl from the tv series, it was before my time although I did see some reruns of the show.

@jaxs mom

Was it really necessary to make me feel that old? (just kidding, but I DO remember watching the series, first run!)

I was sorry to read that yesterday. May she R.I.P. I used to watch the Batman series on tv as a kid. (I still go to all Batman movies to this day).

RIP, Girl!

Wow, I remember this show and what I remember most about it is that that was when we got our first color TV.  I remember watching this show in particular and being amazed at how awesome the color was!  hehe

I bet, in retrospect, the picture was probably pretty lame compared to now, and especially now that everything is HD.

It was nice back in the day, when the actresses playing superheroes such as Batgirl and Wonderwoman had curves. Many of today's actresses are stick-figures with large, artificial-looking bustlines.

This was my first Batgirl!  I ran home from school every day to see this show and I didn't like it when she wasn't on.  It's amazing we seem to have had more girl heroes like Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels, Col Deering from Buck Rogers, etc back in the 70s than we do today.  In fact I can't even think of a real one since Xena left our screens back in the 90s.

RIP, this girl will miss you.  Smiley Sad

Awww, I loved Batgirl!  She and The Girl From Uncle were the closest thing to superheroes I had!  Sorry to hear.
