sunny, there is an option in your settings under preferences to show signatures. It should be checked off and saved.

So, once you get the picture off of the internet and onto your computer as a .bmp (bitmap is not as big as JPEG).
Assuming you are also logged into the forums, then you go your profile.
With me so far?

Once you get into MY SETTINGS, You click on AVATAR
Then you click UPLOAD AN AVATAR
Then you click from my COMPUTER
Then you browse your computer and find the pic of the avatar you want as your avatar and click on it. IT should upload and you click save.

As soon as you save here, a page with come up that says MAIN AVATAR and you will be given the opportunity to crop the pic if you need to .
If you crop it then SAVE and CONTINUE
If you like it as is, then SAVE and CONTINUE
You will then get a screen about message thumnail which shows the smaller version of your avatar next to your messages
AGAIN, you can crop then SAVE and CONTINUE
or like as is and SAVE and CONTINUE

I didn't think Sunny was asking how to post an avatar. It seemed to me she was asking if posting a picture from your personal computer could be traced back to you. I wonder that myself. I do have an avatar (my cat, Louie) and I've clicked on it to see if there is any personal information behind it but it doesn't seem so to me. I'm not that tech savvy though.

Then viola - you have an avatar. I used to have an adorable courage the cowardly dog. Now I have a petrified courage the cowardly dog.

Oops, you can make your album private.
My face is red
I went back to the adorable courage the cowardly dog. Hmm, shouldn't have had those drinks on that other thread (lol). I think it affected my reading and comprehension skils (lol).

just check the name of the photo - take out anything that is personal (some people might have the actual names in their photo - like if they have one of their grandchild, they might have their grandchild's name in there) copy and rename your photo if that is the case. Once you upload it here as an avatar, it is now stored in the Q's servers and there shouldn't be anything that can be traced back to you.

Thanks birdmama, biancardi, and everyone who gave me advice. I guess it will be okay.
I'm still wondering about the signature, though. I really can't see it at all. If you all can see it, why can't I?
Does anyone else have this happening to them?
Have a great night ![]()
