You're

Your

to

too

would of instead of would HAVE as in, "I would of had the ice cream, but I'm on a diet", instead of, "I would HAVE had the ice cream, but I am on a diet."

Sadly, proper grammar isn't taught any more. No wonder the world is beating us in academia.

No turning back, for sure............

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Spelling errors don't bother me. People who don't know, nor do they understand, the basics of science are more of a detriment to society.

And who don't care and diminish its importance in school curriculum.

Yes, indeed. That's much more important than those who don't know the difference between your and you're.

Re: Autocorrect -- the end of writing property...

A friend of mine constantly says SUPPOSABLY instead of SUPPOSEDLY.

On this board there is an abundance of errors regarding LOSE and LOOSE. And YOUR and YOU'RE. And THEIR, THEY'RE and THERE. And ITS and IT'S.

The over-use of apostrophes where they are not needed is one of my major pet peeves (and no, it should not be peeve's).

Thanks for allowing me to vent!

Re: Autocorrect -- the end of writing property...

Not all spelling mistake or typo is the result of poor spelling....I'm dyslexic and no matter how many times I proof read my words there are some that simply do not register correctly in my mind even though I know the correct spelling.... it's not that I misuse certain words... but dyslexia causes me to transpose certain letters.
