autism can speak! My 13 year old non verbal autistic grand daughter started speaking last Thursday in school! Her teachers called her mom ,crying tears of joy and dis belief to say Mary started speaking! The gave the phone to Mary and said to my daughter joyfully,Hi MOMMY! It's a miracle to me! Never give up hope!

OMG!!!!! Makes me want to cry just hearing your news. Life can be so hard, so unforgiving. It's bits like this that some of us wait for a lifetime to experience. I'm so happy for your daughter/in-law, granddaughter and you. It eases the trials and tribulations of living with autism in our world.

Wonderful story so proud of your grand daughter. My niece is autistic and when she does something she's never done before it makes my heart sing. Keep up the good work

My daughter has an autism spectrum disorder. Speech was not one of her issues.
I can only imagine how thrilled you all are!
This is wonderful!!
