Possum, I LOVE my clothesline. Sometimes it is very difficult hauling the clothes out and then bringing them back in but actually I manage it better than what I thought I would. Now if only I could STOP aging and falling apart it would be much better.{#emotions_dlg.ohmy} Also saves a ton of $$ on my electric bill - my dryer is electric yet i find it more inexpensive to operate than the old gas one I use to have. And yes, I love the smell of the clothes. One small thing against it is I need to iron more - but will be honest as I have a ton of things hanging in the closet UNIRONED. Have not drummed up the energy to iron. Actually it is too hot to do it. LOL. Will you buy that excuse?

Church was great this morning - drove two friends so we had a great meal at the CC afterwards. The church we all attend now is in another town - not far away however and the CC is right here where I live. Food is great and prices are manageable.

The weather experts say we MAY have some rain Thursday/Friday - sure hope so.

I continue to thoroughly enjoy all the various pictures - they are truly great.

Hi Birding Friends, Just found this little guy/gal on Facebook and wanted to stop by for a quick hi.

Not much going on here today. Talked to my brother for a bit, and things are still in a state of upheaval at home. Outsiders are coming into the area and stirring up everything and the police have to use stronger means to try and quiet things down.

Winifred, I don't iron anything any more. I take my tee shirts out of the dryer, no clotheslines allowed in DS's neighborhood, and hang them to 'air dry', then I fold them. Most of the time they are just fine. My jeans and shorts, Denim and Co, or Quacker Factory, have some elastic built in so I don't iron them either. My Autumn and Winter clothes, sweatpants, jeans, sweatshirts and flannels don't need ironing. I hate to iron. I used to do it, but haven't in years. My late sister in law used to iron everything, even underwear. I never did that nor sheets. I smooth them out and they are fine. I'd love to be able to use a clothesline here in FL. Everything would dry so quickly.

I need to use the clothesline at home more often to save $$ when I go to the Laundromat. I have to do the wash there as we have septic systems in our area and though there are some trunk lines for sewer and flood lines, it's way to expensive to get on them. The county makes sure though, that we are taxed for those lines. Years back before we had problems with the septic system, I used to do the laundry at home and we never had a dryer, just a Maytag wringer washer, which I liked, but oh, was it a lot of work. I might get back into shape if I started using that again and let the sump pump carry the water up and out onto the big parking area in back. We still have that old washer and I bet my brother could get it working again. It would save me a lot of $$$ for sure and the sudsy water cleaned the basement floor as it drained to the sump pump. I sure don't want to have to pull out those irons again though.

Puddles, What color bow did Snow White get in her hair? Today was Black Cat Appreciation Day and I posted all kinds of black cat photos on the 2 VPs threads. Love my black cats. I hardly ever give my house cats baths, as they are totally inside cats. If I thought Mattie had fleas or something, I would, but she's not had that problem but once, last summer. My brother got some of the meds. that are put on the back of the pet's neck and that took care of the fleas. He left the back door ajar a little bit and some critter, squirrel, possum or even a raccoon got on the porch. We think that's how some fleas got inside. Cindy sprayed with Adams Flea and Tick Spray and that got rid of the rest of them. I find it's the best remedy for ants too, that find their way inside, esp. in spring. I always have a bottle or two if it handy.

I had to spray DS's lime tree, lemon tree for aphis, or ant cows, as they were making their home on those two trees on the patio. The ants 'milk' them for the sweet substance they exude. They weaken the plants and we don't want that to happen as there are lemons and limes + more blossoms on them now. The lemons are getting huge and the limes are right behind them. Also picked a couple of avocados off of the neighbor's tree this afternoon. There are about 2 or 3 dozen avocados hanging on the limbs that extend over the fence into DS's yard. I love avocados on sandwiches and just plain sliced. Guacamole is great too.

Wow, I didn't realize it was so late. I watched some football earlier, + Wi*ck*ed Tuna, a fishing program, and some news before I got on here. Also played Words With Friends with my DD on our phones. Love that game.

Have a peaceful night, and a lovely start to the new week. Take care and be safe, Birding Friends.

possummink, sorry I missed Black Cat Day and your graphics. Love the one you posted here! Snow White got a pink, blue, green plaid bow as it goes with her blue/green eyes. When we found her she was such a mess and our local pet groomer offered to give her a bath and she loved it, so I just treat her every once in awhile. I know, I spoil her!Smile

Stripes decided to spend the night in last night. In fact he even jumped up on the bed and spent some time with me - he was letting me know I guess he still loves us all. There are times I wonder and this past week don't think he spent one single night in. Of course he sits out in the early a.m. waiting for his fresh bowl of food and water. LOL. Have noticed in recent months he is aging a bit. You do not always notice that on critters but when you do, reality sits in. He is still somewhat a young man for a cat - about 9 years old but he is moving a bit slower. He is also a very big cat - not fat - just big. But then perhaps the weather has gotten to him also but my 8 year old dog and the other critters do not appear to have slowed down a bit in this weather.

My poor outside feathered friends have been without food for a few days as it has been so miserable to fill the feeders. Feel bad about it but will definitely get it done today. I walk outside and within 5 minutes am dripping wet - the humidity is just terrible and it is so difficult to just keep moving out there. Actually the other evening even with my ACs running, it was horribly sticky inside the house - we were all miserable. Geesh.Got my lilacs watered - finally - out in front on the south side. Today I hope to get them watered down back. With all our water shortages, etc have cut way back and they are all suffering. Roses continue to be watered with the lawn watering but that is all. The back yard had not been watered for about a week now and need to also get that done. Am trying to figure out how/when to do that as I cannot water it during the day - a big no no. I still see sprinklers going during the day - shame on them - as we do not have laws governing watering times in our area - YET - but they sure have gotten the word out. I remember well the water shortage in the mid 70s. We had water police everywhere - we had laws controlling it then and am sure it will pop in again here also. The water cops were everyone, neighbors, just anyone who saw water running during the day. Guess it was necessary to stop stupidity just like I saw the other day. Guy washing his truck up the street on a dirt driveway - that is a big no no. Since that water shortage of the 70s, I have NEVER washed a car at home unless I drove it onto the lawn - still do that - just makes sense.

Hope all have a great day!!! The pictures are just great - as always. Especially loved the clothesline pix - that looks like it was back in NC. My clotheseline out here is one of those spinning things - use to have the long lines but they are long gone. And of course it is not as green and lush here like it was in my childhood..

Another vote here for the clothesline and the old maytag washer. We had one that was a spare in the event my mom's kenmore broke down. The wringer was never a problem for me, I just had to remember that I controlled the time the agitator was spinning - all dependent on pulling or pushing the start knob. Left too long and that machine would beat your clothes to shreds . I also remember using a wood and glass washboard for my white socks.

Ahh - those were the days.
