@Melbalee Welcome and now that you've given us a little more info, I hope that it is helpful to you. I am a widow also and I understand your need to be very cautious. Very wise of you.

@Melbalee my niece and nephew and their two teenagers lived in Pheonix for years and just transfered to Dallas, He's a Pilot with AA and she also works for AA.
I was invited to Pheonix but never made it. Can't take the heat although I lived in Fl for years after leaving NY and NJ. I'm a cold weather lady.

I understand that for sure. Although I have never lived in the snow...its hotter here as so many people are moving here.
@Melbalee I'm in Georgia, moved here in 2009. December, big snow storm. Everything came to a standstill. Everything shut down. We were waiting for the plows to come through and clean the streets, nothing. My sisters who were living here before us, laughed and said we would be waiting a looonng time and we did. they had to borrow plows from a neiboring State and they only cleaned the City.
Nothing like NY and NJ where they are always prepared. But I like the cold weather.

@Melbalee If you are trying to find a forum where you can talk about topics concerning society that involve a discussion of politics or religion this is not the place to do so. The forum guidelines prohibit that.
There are message boards that do allow those discussions from a variety of viewpoints as long as the people discussing these topics are courteous and respectful to each other. Most message boards do have moderators to help keep discussions civilized.
I joined one called "Debate Politics" several months back but I visit it rarely and just read but haven't posted yet.
Just a guess, but as a widow, and maybe living alone, are you maybe worried about crime in the area where you live?
My Significant Other of 18 years died last year in mid October after a cancer that was detected on July 26th and advanced rapidly and I am adjusting gradually to being alone after so many years of being with him.
If my guess is correct try to see if your police department holds regular meetings with neighborhood or district groups. Many police departments, especially in cities, hold them and you can find good information and ask questions. It's also a great way to meet new people in your area.
If you have Nextdoor online for your area you can join that and learn about all sorts of things going on in your area and people do offer advice and help each other.
People were super about coming to the assistance of others during the pandemic and are still helping others out with different problems.
I do apologize if my guess about what may be bothering you that you want to discuss is wrong.
In any event, if you are able, try to share with someone in person about whatever your concern is. Having online discussions only isn't always the best way to get information, though it can be helpful.
Best to you and have a pleasant weekend.
