This is an old thread--but I tried Crestor years ago. One of its side effects back when I took it, in around 2006 ish, was, lumps on the back of the achilles tendons--which happened to me and because it only had 45,000 people who mentioned that little nasty thing, the makers didn't include it on the legnthy list of possible SE. I ended up getting surgery on both of tendons when I could have just stopped taking it, as it wasn't widely known about. It did lower my #s. I have family cholesterol issues as well as not being able to take any statins due to major side effects.
