These calls are so agrivating. I am going to buy a loud whistle and try that. They may call back but I'll have some fun with giving them a headache.

Doesn't seem to matter even if you registered your number on the Do Not Call Registry.

I still have a landline. It is through my cable service. Through them my phone is set up that the caller must state their name and then hit # key before the call is connected. Since spam calls are computer generated they don't come through. It has really stopped all spam calls.

It took a while, but I finally got rid of the spam calls on my landline by either letting it go to voicemail OR asking them not to call again. It took over a year if I remember correctly. I'm sure there are many more calling now and I'm glad to not have have that to be concerned with anymore!
I do enjoy a private landline and am so happy to have mine without any spam calls bothering me years later.

My Voip service has a spam filter but also allows you to block numbers that slip thru.
Before this I had a plug in box that was plugged in to the main phone and it had a block feature. I don't remember who made it but the thing stopped working after a power surge.

I hate to say this but the only way to make it stop is to GET RID OF YOUR LANDLINE....I know its a tough decision, I kept mine as long as I did for emergency situations to reach hospitals, doctors etc, because you could still make calls with a landline if the power goes out and the wifi towers are also down....But I just couldn't take all the spam calls day and night anymore, and I never answered them.....I got a Tracfone (they operate on any available tower).... And I've only gotten 2 spam calls in 5 years, I blocked the numbers and they never called back!!!.....Now I will say my sister has ATT and she gets spam calls now and then....
If you get a device that logs the numbers you can report
them.To report unwanted or spam calls to the FCC, you can file a complaint online at fcc.gov/complaints. If you did not lose money but want to report a call, use the DoNotCall.gov reporting form. If you lost money or have information about a scammer, report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov
Filing a complaint with the FCC can be effective, although the FCC doesn't resolve every individual complaint. While the FCC may not always resolve your specific issue directly, your complaint helps them track trends, identify potential violations, and potentially trigger investigations or enforcement actions

@Desertdi. How did you go about getting your VOIP line and was it easy to install? What's the process?

I shut down my Landline a few months ago and one reason was the spam calls but before I got to that point I had a call block placed on my landline. I went to Spectrum's website and set up my phone to only recieve calls from certain numbers and it worked very well. It was very easy to set up the block. Good luck in getting rid of those calls it can be very frustrating !

My land line is FIOS/Verizon. I sometimes get a call that indicates something like "suspected SPAM. I block that for the future. But I honestly don't get more than a couple of potential spem calls per month. However, since I never answer my phone if I don't recognize the number, I typically will block any of those calls if they don't leave a message.

It was a "special" from Cox Communications. Free hookup thru the regular phone wiring...and their rates are a lot cheaper than AT&T. It came with internet and TV, too. di
