Your bold name calling is childish, unnecessary and has NO place here.
We come here to have an ADULT conversation....not to be verbally attacked.
BTW- it depends on what news you are watching.....

We haven't had a family to be with in many years and I am alive, happy and fine with just the two of us. I know people who went on cruises, and people who had large family gatherings where most had no vaccinations.
It amazes me how many people ignore common sense, and refuse, simply refuse to be impacted in any way. Their life must go on as it always had. Hey, let's see family no matter what is going on. I know personally of a family who gathered a year ago and lost one because they had to be together. Now, is it really worth it? It wouldn't be to me if I had family.

Yes I agree. Some were calling the snow in VA a blizzard. It was NOT a blizzard. Anyone who has been in an actual blizzard would know that.
They had about a foot of snow, enough to cripple the DC area without even taking all the holiday traffic into account.
I live here and I'm well aware of how much snow we had. However, words have meaning - or at least they once did - and it was NOT a blizzard.

My BIL had covid last year.
Got 2 shots and a booster
Has Covid AGAIN! He did not travel! Got it at work, masks and all.
He is just as sick as he was the first time b4 the shots were invented.
There are many going through the same thing. Even more of them, when the comorbidities are factored into it.
In my view, like in most scientific studies, there are still, and always be the unknowns.
Like your BIL, 2 shots and a booster, and has it again! Not sure what "just as sick as he was the 1st time b4 the shots were invented" means.
There is 1 thing that IS pretty clear to me about all of this!

@Goodie2shoes No, thankfully most of our family live close. Knowing myself, I would not pick winter to go visit family in the situations we find ourselves now in this country. Weather, loss of employees, illness, etc.
I know of a family who has Christmas in the summer months around the pool. It's a bit safer outside, no plane delays, and very few workers needed! I just don't feel that adventurous at this stage of life, I guess.
As far as traffic jams in the winter goes, I guess next time people hear of bad weather on the horizen they will be more prepared. I think sometimes we trust our government to do things for us that we should think ahead and do for ourselves.

Totally agree with everything you just said. People need to stop and think about the situation our country is in with this virus and do what needs to be done. Stop thinking about what you want and more about what you can do to help wipe this virus out. And if means giving up traveling, visiting, gatherings, etc. then so be it!!

I bought one the day I moved; I recently just finished it. I'm going to order more, probably from Premier Gourmet. They have Anchor Bar wing sauce too.
This was my last meal in Buffalo (actually on Transit Rd in Amherst: My daughter had the hamburger and we split the fries,

DC is not Buffalo, they are not equipped, have never been equipped the same as Buffalo to handle more than a foot of snow! Fact.

Adding insult to injury: Someone was not only stuck in the I-95 Virginia chaos but was also riding in an Uber vehicle and is now stuck with a $600 bill to pay. My lands!

DC is not Buffalo true, but we have had over a foot of snow on more than one occasion. It is certainly far from unheard of. We had lots of warning about this snowfall. It was not a surprise.
Sorry, but I don't agree with your belief that this area has no responsibility to prepare to effectively deal with snow.
