I feel so sorry for those people.  How could their government officials do that to them?  And how much money did they save (as that was their reasoning) - now that they're having to buy bottled water, testing kits, pay for medical exams???

Re: Anyone from Flint ?

[ Edited ]

I live Up North but used to live & work in Detroit.

Water issues are nothing new, it's been 2 years like this. Everyone knew and nobody did a thing. Not the state, not the governor, not the city until news cameras made it headlines.

When you're poor, nobody's lives matter. Even the Right Rev Jesse came today and didn't get much press.

I live about 45 minutes from Flint. This water crisis is horrendous, and has been going on for a very long time. We have a dreadful governor.

The state isn't paying for he bottled water it's being donated and flint residents are still getting water bills. The local media ignored it until they were forced to acknowledge.

Many years ago I lived in Ohio..

Years back, I read where Lake Erie caught fire :-(

Remember along time ago the stories of "acid rain" :-(

Rachel Maddow has been talking about this for a LONG time - and about leadership in MI way before even the Flint situation was discovered.

I live about 200 miles from Flint. Pass through it every time we go visit our kids in the burbs of Detroit.

this crisis has been years, in the making. Flint officials didn't stand up for the city and need to shoulder some blame for this. Snyder should have done better. there were scientists that told officials what was happening, but no one listened. shame on ALL, involved.

jesse jackson, michael moore and others, should just stay home and let MI and flint, fix this. jackson just wants camara time and isn't helping.

This water issues seem to be across the U.S. and I agree that something needs to be done ASAP.  Who can you trust anymore for the truth about your water being safe?
