My youngest daughter's 15 year old male siamese cat stopped eating about 10 days ago. After a few overnight and 2 night vet visits with IV's and feedings, the vet called this morning and said it's time to think about euthanasia because of organ failure. My daughter wanted to bring him home and hold him til he dies. The vet says he's in no pain and should just stop breathing very soon (hrs). He is laying quietly on a heating pad and isn't responding to us anymore.
This is happening right now - can anyone tell me what will happen at the end? Will he just stop breathing? I'm trying to prepare my daughter. The vet didn't give many details.
