Re: Anyone else feeling the loss of not being able to discuss politics?

I like to discuss politics, but not here.  There would be too many hurtful comments and little understanding of each other's views.  It is difficult enough to discuss politics politely when you are face to face; anonymity would make it impossible.

As far as LR activities go, she is free to pursue her goals and ambitions.  I don't follow her.

Re: Anyone else feeling the loss of not being able to discuss politics?

I come here to find out mostly about products.  I don't watch live QVC.  But I do like many of the items offered.  And stores today are short handed, just cashiers... no one to give advice or to help out with questions (most stores I shop in or not).

Politics can be discussed elsewhere.  TV is full of it, in my opinion too full...QVC owns this forum and has the right to make the rules.

And there are those here as anywhere that have strong opinions and come off as not being too kind.. I choose to stay away from it.  My vote, my choice. nobody needs to know why or even cares.

Why the hate for trivia?  Everyone needs trivia in their lives to divert their attention from the the serious.  We can't be serious all the time.

Feeling the loss? Not even for a millisecond.

Re: Anyone else feeling the loss of not being able to discuss politics?

There's no reason IMO to "feel the loss of not being able to discuss politics."  There are plenty of people away from this board - in "real life" - to discuss politics with.  No need to bring even more nstiness to this board.  The smallest most insignificant topics get nasty here - I can just imagine a political discussion.  No, I don't even want to imagine it.

Surely people have friends and relatives with whom to discuss politics.  The QVC board is just not a place for it.

Re: Anyone else feeling the loss of not being able to discuss politics?

I wish we could have productive political discussions but some folks just can't contain their extreme dislike for those who hold opinions they don't like.

There have been times I've seen those who argree with each other put someone else down for a differing view and have a discussion back and forth about how stupid that other person is, poking fun at the other person for holding that viewpoint.  They cross the border of disliking the views to blasting the person who holds that view.

I understand Q's desire to keep politics off here.

And some posters have the tendency to express very, very strong opinions too.

No. I find the topic too painful and wish we could emigrate to Canada. I don't even want to think about what is going on, much less discuss it. Smart decision by QVC for a change.

Then pack up the car and get a going.

Aside from Q's policies on political content, anyone who doesn't want to be here and be part of the process doesn't have to be, What's stopping you, if you feel strongly enough about it to actually verbalize it?

It's election year and we have to settle for discussions about Lisa R's latest antics (time to move on), and other trivial nonsense.

Sounds like you're talking about what this election year has been so far!
