I looked at the list of impacted sites on downdetector dot com.  Major impact!  Things seem to be coming back slowly. One report says that Amazon has identified the problem and is working to fix it.  No details of what cause this mess.  Hard to imagine the lost revenues today by all the impacted sites!

HEB (a Texas grocery chain) is having issues with its website and app. I have been trying off and on for a couple of hours to place a curbside pickup order. A few moments ago they placed a banner on the site that they are experiencing difficulty and working to resolve as quickly as possible.

I do not know if they use Amazon's web hosting or if there are more problems out there today than are being reported.

Placed and order earlier and did not see a verification that it was ordered. Checked my email, nothing from Amazon. Went back and placed the same order and got "this is a duplicate order do you wish to continue or cancel. I chose Cancel.

Went back again and placed the same order. Nothing from them or email yet. If I end up with 2, I will call Customer Service, and send one back.

Something ain't right there now.

I think there must be an online feeding frenzy right now with huge amount of shopping traffic. . I tried shopping online yesterday on many sites and very few were working like they should. Nordstrom's and Old Navy were the worst. Stuff would show up as out of stock, I would go back later and it would say they had plenty of stock. And some sites just crashed and then were back up. I am just holding my breath that UPS does it job and things are delivered as promised. This morning we had two packages left on our front porch. Neither one had our name or address on the, they both belonged to people on the next street from us. Not even close, UPS.

Earlier this afternoon I tried to place an order with Whole Foods delivery through Amazon and got an "ooops!" message when I tried to go to checkout.

I just decided to go to the store instead.  I broke a toe over the weekend and have been trying to stay off my feet so I thought a home delivery would be nice but gave up.
