Anyone Buy a Robot Vacuum For Christmas?

I'm still so appreciative of mine.  What a time saver when getting ready for company.

WHAT DOG HAIR??  I DON'T SEE NO STINKING DOG HAIR! Smiley Happy

And now that DH has retired (yay!), I bet he'll be willing to brush them outside a few times a week.  Starting in Feb, the Dingo will start blowing his coat and keep blowing it till Nov.

@monicakm I haven't bought one yet, but it's sure tempting with a Lab/Great Pyrenees mix, and two cats that all shed all year round--especially the dog!

What are you waiting on @vermint?  Sounds like you'll need a jumbo model lol

Probably an extra-jumbo, @monicakm! I vacuum every couple of days, and can fill up the canister just doing the living room. Smiley Surprised

Re: Anyone Buy a Robot Vacuum For Christmas?

I'm old and living in 2 story house with wall to wall carpeting. Using a Shark Stratos corded vac which does excellent job but is becoming hard for me to push. So...would I need 2 of these robo vacs, one for each floor?  Does it go under beds and in corners? What about under sofa and dining room chairs? Will it run over my areas of hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles? I'd still need to do stairs myself I guess.

Re: Anyone Buy a Robot Vacuum For Christmas?

We bought one many years ago when we did have a dog.  She used to shed a lot so having this Robo Vacuum was great!

DH had scheduled it to go off each morning and it did its thing.  However once our dog got older she started having accidents and we would have to keep her in the laundry room at night during her last year.

The first time she had a bad accident the Roomba had been scheduled to go off before we came down.  As you can imagine it was a major disgusting mess!  Two area rugs had to be thrown out.  DH took apart the Roomba and sanitized each piece.

We no longer have a dog and though the Roomba still works I don't have the need to use it as much.

@CJC Yes they go under beds, sofas (as long as they fit), etc.  They will adjust for carpet vs hardwood & tile.  They even know not to fall down steps today.

You could get one for each floor or just carry it from floor to floor.

I bought one last year, but haven't set it up yet.  I hope to set it up in January.

Re: Anyone Buy a Robot Vacuum For Christmas?

I was tempted to buy a back-up in case one of mine dies on me.  Still may....

We have one for the upstairs where the Litter Robot and feeders are.  Brought it from out last house and it works great and is about 9 years old.

And we bought a new one for downstairs only when we moved here permanently.

My parents bought one a year ago that washes the floors and does the carpet vaccuuming.  Only the vaccuuming gets done though.  I'd love one of those for my upper deck because it drives me crazy when people walk out there in bare feet and then come back in the house.

We have hardwoods only and tiles in the baths.  Does a great job on those.  Goes over thick plush bathmats straight from the tiles.

Am I the only one that hopes they can invent one that will do stairs?  My life would be complete!Woman Very Happy
