Yes, and this book claims you can lose 18lbs. in 2 weeks. That's quite a hefty weight loss, but the bigger the # the more books he sells.

It's no different than any other low carb/sugar type diet. I tried one years ago that limited carbs to 60 grams a day. It worked fast, but it's not meant to be done for more than a couple weeks at a time. It's great that you can eat proteins and veggies, and some fruits, but low carb diets cause Ketosis, and that is not a healthy metabolic state long term. The body needs carbs to function properly. His claim to this diet about limiting your daily intake to 100 sugar calories or less sounds great in theory, but when you consider one apple has about 80 sugar calories, yet it is healthy fruit, then you start to have a problem. It will work for some, but it's not a healthy long term diet. The simple fact to losing weight is to burn off more calories than you take in each day. Nutrition should be key, and a balanced diet. You could eat 1500 calories of Twinkies each day, or 1500 calories of protein, veggies, carbs and healthy sugars. If you work off 1600 calories, you'll still lose weight either way, but you will be healthier without the Twinkies.

Oh my....I Googled the 100 Diet. Wow. Limiting sugar/carbohydrate calories to 100 per day. And only 1 apple has 99 calories. Your brain & muscles work off of glucose...you need carbohydrate to survive....that's Human 101. Good luck, though.

100 grams of carbs is a lot that is 5 times the amount allowed in the Basic Atkins plan.

It 100 calories not carbs they are very very different

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

If you want to lose weight for a month and gain back more than you lost, it sounds great.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

When I started 6 months ago, I was morbidly obese, and now I'm a few pound from "overweight". I feel like 10 million bucks. I don't know what fuel my brain is working on, but I'm holding on to my 4.0 average in school, and memorized over a dozen songs for Fall and Winter performances last semester. Haven't heard of this "diet" but I plan to look it up to see how it compares with my lifestyle change. My doctor thinks what I'm eating is great for the long haul too. I can't imagine "going back" to a life of refined food.

Good for you violann! Congrats!.......do you mind telling us exactly what lifestyle changes you made? Anything out of the ordinary, or just common sense less calories, more exercise?

Hi EmmaB- I made my decisions on issues with blood pressure, blood sugar, cravings, and obesity, SO- no grain, no dairy, no salt, no sugar. If I could do small portions of whole grains, I definitely would, but for me, there's no such thing as a small portion when it comes to grain. Everything I put in my mouth is focused on maintaining blood glucose, lowering blood pressure, and reducing weight. Working at this since March 2013. So far, so good!
