Giraffe factoids:
Did you know that -
Giraffes do NOT mate for life?
That the bulls do NOT stick around to help rear the young?
That once a bull mates with a cow, that he doesn't stick around, but, rather, moves on to mate with the next available female?
That when two bulls fight, and bash their necks in to each other, it's called "necking"?

@Plaid Pants2, in other words giraffes have some human tendencies or is it that some humans have giraffe tendencies lol.

@Marp - Thank you for posting the update. For some reason I am no longer able to get them. All I can do is watch April - no information.
Could those baby goats be any cuter, lol.

3/23 Morning Update
April was notabley slower moving this morning at breakfast. Wax caps are still present and her back end swell (as you can see) continues to be significant. Belly growth from last week to this week is still mind blowing - she has to fit a 6', 150# calf somewhere!
The twin goats born late last night are doing great and have been confirmed 1 boy and 1 girl.
We're excited to announce that we’ve team up with Toys ‘R Us!
Both Animal Adventure Park and Toys 'R Us have the common goal of bringing awareness to the plight of the giraffe as well as the need to create a sustainable future for them. Made possible in part by their sponsorship, Animal Adventure Park will be donating $25,000 to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF)!
GCF is the only non-governmental organization in the world that concentrates only on the conservation and management of giraffe, in the wild, in Africa – we are thrilled to be able to support such a worthy cause!
GCF founders Stephanie & Julian send their love, thanks, and support all the way from Namibia! We look forward to a long relationship, and just the beginning of our support to their foundation and giraffes!

@Marp I always enjoy reading the updates especially if they contain some interesting facts about the Giraffes. I only knew what these lovely animals looked like, but nothing else.

April's tail has been up quite a bit the last hour or so.

Hi @gidgetgh~
I thought of you today because I remember you said you check your phone when you get in and I thought I have had her on over a month non-stop on phone and computer but I'm not complaining.I will only admit this to you lol!
I was thinking of saying I am so in love with her and Oliver!
One blogger said that you would think it would be boring to watch a giraffe all day but people are fascinated and also think she is like a therapy animal.
She really is-so soothing to watch and I love when she and Oliver snuggle together. I've already decided she must be the most beautiful giraffe there is.I think Oliver thinks so too![]()
She has definitely been more active the past few days. I think I will really be surprised when I see a baby; I am so used to seeing her in the morning still her sweet pregnant self!
I know we'll keep watching! And then I think I read somewhere that they would continue to show the baby after it was born, but that might have been another one. I know one zoo said they wouldn't, to give privacy. But she doesn't know we are watching her!
p.s.~I read that giraffes usually give birth at night where they are less likely to be seen but maybe it is different in the wild vs. a safe pen or maybe nature takes over-or when the baby comes its going to appear whether its day or night!

thank you for posting the updates!
I usually try to get the live feed anywhere its available as fast as I can or refresh it or whatever so I usually don't even get to read the updates.
It was interesting when they said April was "moody" a morning or so ago. I didn't notice that but did notice Oliver being kind of moody! He wouldn't take any hay or whatever that green stuff was from Alyssa and kept prancing away. He seemed very put out about something and was almost like a bucking stallion. I wondered what was going on. Course I don't know him lol so I may have misinterpreted it all!

I read yesterday that they're going to keep the camera on for 5 days after the birth.
