Re: Any Fruitcake Lovers Out There

I am just surprised by the problems people have had getting refunds from Amazon. I just got something that was completely melted and got a total refund. I had to find where to talk to a real person, because the automated thing just says it is not eligible for a refund, but if you make your way to a person, they will refund it immediately. I love how they tell you that you don't have to return it and can donate it or eat it.

Re: Any Fruitcake Lovers Out There

@rockygems123 I love fruit cake, but have never tried Beatrice's.  My go to has been Collin's.

I would be willing to give Beatrice a try buying it from Amazon at smaller quantity.

Thanks for the tip.

Love Claxton's fruit cake

@Seminole2  that's my favorite fruitcake! I get 2 or 3 from walmart dot com for such cheap prices. I love that fruitcake cold in the fridge- I slice a piece off and eat it whenever I want to during the holidays. Delicious Smiley Very Happy

@Desertdi We make them with the old Betty Crocker recipe but add a lot more good fruit.  We make them in November and keep soaking them in Grand Marnier frequently until December then they will keep until spring.

We make a big batch in small tins and enjoy them a LONG time!  They live in the fridge in the garage!

Is it OK if I drop by on New Year's Eve???    di

@Desertdi Yep!  We will have a good time and send you home with a cake all your own!  Woman LOL

@chlema  I Don't know if Beatrice is associated with the Grandma's fruitcake You are looking for But looking at the package it says Grandma's Bake Shoppe in the bottom right corner.

Also you might want to check out the Beatrice Bakery Website for variety and price.

Enjoy your Fruitcake!

Yes, the Grandmas is made by Beatrice bakery.  I prefer the all in one piece cake instead of the individual slices.  According to their post on Amazon the only liquid they use - bourbon, rum & brandy.  No wonder I love it lol.   (and I'm not a drinker either, ha)

I only liked one fruit cake & it was made by a friend from Italy. He put sausage in it & tho that sounds disgusting it was really good. I’m more a gingerbread person at Holiday time.

I love a good fruitcake, although they're not easy to find.  Years ago, I bought good ones at Strawbridges.  I wish I knew what the brand was.  Now it's just hit or miss.

I miss QVC offering Marilyn's Gourmet Fruitcake! It was the best AND gluten-free!
