Ants, Ants, Ants! Help!

OK...we have an overload of ants in the bathroom this year. I have put out liquid Terro on those little pieces of cardboard three times, but they keep coming back. Usually the Terro does the trick. These are tiny black ants. I have to keep the bathroom door closed when I use the Terro as we have two cats.

I know there are things that you can put outside, but we have a lot of wildlife that we feed and would not want to sicken...chipmunks, squirrels, birds, rabbits, deer. Any ideas?? Thanks so much!
