We need to keep reminding people not to click on links on e-mails.  Go to the website of the purported sender and check there.

I’ve been getting some interesting texts lately. One says that my browsing history shows I’ve been on unsecured websites and that I now have (3) viruses on my phone. Clean my phone ASAP, with a convenient link attached. The other is from “Netflix” about an issue with my account.

Not sure what you can do when your phone number is on the dark web. 🙁 I just block the numbers, but that obviously doesn’t do anything.

Nothing through my Gmail accounts but lots of text. Still waiting for the 2,500 that someone sent me through Zelle but I guess i won't be getting it because I didn't open the text.

Yes, Grandson scam.  I kept them on the phone.. PLAYING them.  I asked questions very slowly and deliberately not to let them know I knew it was a scam. Finally they hung up on me.  I have four daughters, no way my grandson has my last name.  And they could not even pronounce it.  And my grandson does not drive.  City boy.  Takes public transportation and did not cause an accident. But it was my entertainment for the night.

And there was the Geek Squad scam yesterday.  And  a week ago the State of Md got caught  up in a fraud attack my thousands and my retired hubby is to be back for his fraulent unemployment request.  Took two weeks to solve that because the State of Md is over burdened and also understaffed and I will kindly say unprepared totally for what happened TO THEM.

It goes on and on and on.
So be careful friends.  Be careful.

@Alter Ego I received the exact same texts.  It's getting out of control!

There are so many scams.

I never click on a link in an email. You did the right thing by calling them.

As the grandmother of 8, any call that mentions one of my grandkids being in trouble would make my heart skip a beat, even if I knew it was a scam.

I have gotten them from Chase (only my mortgage holder) and Wells Fargo, don't a credit cards with either company.  PLUS I get basically the same types of emails from someone claiming to be Amazon about not being able to process my MONTHLY Prime payment. I pay yearly you idiots!

Does anyone ever get emails with question marks within the title of the email? Sometimes they say you won something or it's a survey you take to get something ( I don't look I just delete them). Today I got an email with question marks, it was in Spanish which I don't speak or read!
