We are home from our errands, and I wanted to thank each of you for your wonderful thoughts. We are so hoping to be able to attend the future memorial for her at Thompson-Boiling arena but I am sure it wil be packed to the highest seats in there. Again, thank you all..
And to @Anonymous and @Susan-QVC, thank you so very much.

@MickD, quick story.. several years ago I bought a Cutter & Buck golf shirt- columbia blue (LadyVols blue) with an orange T on the left side... well I got an extra large and it was too small, knowing I wear a large or exlarge. Anywho, I took it back to the bookstore and our friend is assistant manager, told me to talk to the vendor.. so I did.. He said, "Pat Summitt brought hers back exactly like that one and said it was too dam small, just like you did." I glowed all over myself and we had a good laugh.. So today I wore that exact shirt and husband wore one of his orange/white golf shirts.. Lots of people commenting and talking about Coach.. What a treasure trove she was!! I told him when they honor her at our first home football fame, we'll need a box of kleenex... Here's the tribute the Pride did to their former Band director Dr. Julian... we had tears running down our faces.. This today can be for Coach too!!... The bagpipes, alumni band and the Pride played Amazing Grace..

@MickD, the alumni band is the best.. we have friends in it and have become basically band members, for lack of better words.
When I pulled the shirt off the hangar this morning, well I knew it was the one to wear and giggled to myself. I'd of loved to have known her on a different level but there are so many of us that love and admire her.. like I said it may have been a one time meeting and conversation & picture with her but that makes us Tennessee family. I am such a sap but darn't I can't help it..

She did so much for girls' sports. Muffet McGraw from Notre Dame said,
“Pat was the one voice in women’s basketball that everyone respected,” McGraw said in the statement. “She only cared about what was good for the game and how we could make it better. She raised the bar for women and showed us what it meant to be a leader, not just in coaching, but in life. We have lost an icon in our game.”
Such a horrible disease. May she rest in peace and may her family and friends find comfort in knowing, she is no longer suffering.
