I understand the boards are shutting down, but I have yet to see the 'banner' announcing the closing.  I used two different browsers and still no announcement showing up.

...I think the decision stinks.

This is terrible news. I don't use Facebook.

What if QVC gave the Forums an item number and charged $2.00 a month for access?

How many people do you think would sign up?

@PickyPicky3

Now that's an interesting idea.  Wonder if QVC would go for that?  You're definitely a creative problem solver! Why not post that in the QVC Suggestion Box?

Although I don't post often, I enjoy coming here to read. I would definitely miss "seeing" everyone each day.

I have gone over to a place on Delphiforums . com called Wisteria Lane. The forum has a nice bunch of people, and they post the TSV's for both QVC and HSN. They also have daily threads with lots of interesting information.  I believe they've been around since 2008.

The host of the forum seems very nice, so maybe we could ask if they would be open to changing some of the folders to more closely resemble the boards here at QVC.

It is a free site, and when you register, you choose a nickname, so your real information is never displayed.

Once you register, you never have to post if you don't want to, but you are able to read all of the messages posted.

If you go to the main page at Delphiforums . com and enter Wisteria Lane in the search bar, you can find the forum.

I do not have a Facebook account, nor do I intend to have one, so this is a nice alternative for me.

I hope people from these boards go over to that forum.  It would be a nice way for everyone to still post and keep in touch.

I have no affiliation with that forum, I just think it's a cool place to hang out.

Thank you for this information @undertheradar .  I for one will definitely check out the site you mentioned.

I'd also like to start a separate thread suggesting it so that more people on these forums will see it.  Would that be ok with you, if I don't mention your nickname, just say that a poster suggested this and I'm going to try it out?  I think many of us are looking for a place to land when these forums go away.

Re: An Important Update???

[ Edited ]

It's sad to think these forums are going away.  I would come here to get the "real" info on sizing, and information on different items.  I could always count on someone being here to give me the real lowdown and not the sales pitch on the pages.  Also I have watched many people get supported through personal issues, share their happiness and interesting things that have happened or experiences they have gone through. I watched people who lost loved ones, friends through the past year and half  find some of the kindest support here.

Some of us found people who disagreed with us, some found agreement and suppport.  But no matter what we walked away at the end of each day with a little more knowledge and possibly new friendships than when we walked in here.  It has been a blessing to have these boards with such a large diversity of opinions, ideas and knowledge.

I figure they either don't have the IT support anymore or don't want to continue it for these forums.  I will miss Mama Wick's deer pictures, and so many other great tips, adventures and insights.  It's going to lose them some supporters for sure. People will still come to the pages BUT they won't linger, and since there are no forums mentioning products they WILL see less sales.   Open discussion about products can and has equaled more purchases.  Since I know I would go view a product someone talked about.   Yup, it will be a sad day.  And once they kill them, there will be those that never come back even if they were to re-instate them.  I guess this is their "Happy Holidays" to all their customers.  BAH HUMBUG!

Will be a good time to end my patronage of QVC when this happens

@HB glamma I don't watch QVC, and if it were not for things I see on the boards and think of, I would never order anything from QVC.

Their programming is totally of no interest to me, so what I buy is what I see here.

Please feel free to start a separate thread @shoesnbags .

I hope you like the site as much as I do. It's easy to navigate, it has folders which allow you to start individual threads, you can post directly to a forum member, and everyone seems to be positive and upbeat.

I think it's a great solution to this dilemma.

This seems like a weird announcement to make on a day FB is down all day. We can look for each other on FB by signing everything with our user name here. lol

I will miss some of the interesting conversations that take place here and the lighter topics like fashion and the TSV.
