An Honest Man

I met an honest man today. After the storm a couple of weeks ago, the winds were crazy, I found pieces of shingles in the alley between my house and my neighbors'. Since I didn't know which roof the shingles came off of, I called a roofer recommended by my sister's neighbor. He came today, stood across the street (you can see the roof), told me it's not your roof, yours is good. it's your neighbors'. Now he could have told me I needed a new roof or I needed to patch up my roof. I told him I appreciated his honesty and thanked him. I will keep him in mind if I ever need him or refer him to someone.

@Jordan2 That certainly bolsters your faith in humanity. Recently, we bought a new lawnmower, because our old one was nothing but problems, and we had it for 30 years. The local lawnmower store came to deliver the new mower and pick up to old one we thought was trash. They called a few days later and told us they were able to salvage our lawnmower and sell it. They split the sale price with us!!

How sweet of him. Good that your roof is OK.

I have list of wonderful people to hire, since I am not that good with some things, and chatting with them can be so helpful too. Who knew there was an going scandal with Koehler parts 😂
