An Affordable Cellphone Plan

I have a Tracfone, up to now it's been okay for me since I don't use it much. I am going to be making a temporary move, so my cellphone will be my only phone. I'm only interested in unlimited talk, I don't text and not looking to use it for any online things. I looked up Consumer Cellular, Cricket Wireless, Metro, and Boost. I would probably purchase a phone through them. Does anyone know much about these plans, also is there a brick and mortar store or do I order it online?

We bought our phones from Republic and use there service.  We are very happy.  It is very reasonable.

I don't have any mentioned but did read several negative postings here about Consumer Cellular - about their customer service.

You might try searching the web for Reviews.

We've been happy with Consumer Cellular for many years, but have never needed to call their customer service.  I find their website easy to navigate.

@Jordan2,  Tracfone has an unlimited talk and text plan for $20 a month.

Why not just add minutes to your Tracfone? Low cost and easy to do right from the phone. All moves are stressful -- I wouldn't make a phone change if I didn't have to.

Re: An Affordable Cellphone Plan

as two other posters mentioned, you can add ONLY minutes to your tracphone.  i've had tracphone for years. i can't tell you how many times when dh and i were somewhere, and i got reception and he didn't on his fancy expensive phone.  why change what you are already familiar with?

I dropped Consumer Cellular because one month when I used more than my usual amount of time, they automatically switched me to a different plan without notifying me.  To get back to my original plan I would have had to call them.  I switched to AT&T.

I've been with Consumer Cellular for years and love it.  I don't know why they would have complaints about customer service.  I've called them a few times over the years and always been impressed with their service.  The thing about switching to a different plan is so you don't get charged expensive overages if you go over your minutes or data.  They just kick you up to the next level plan for that month.  All you have to do is call them to return to your original plan.  And since I am an AARP member, I get a 5% discount on my bill every month.  So, yeah, I'm happy with Consumer Cellular!

Man plans. God laughs.

@Jordan2

I purchased a Tracfone last year through QVC as a secondary phone, I have unlimited talk / text on that phone and it is $20 - $25 / month.  The price range is because when I purchased they offered $15 for the first couple of months if I remember correctly and my recent billing was for $23 / month.
