That term applies to anyone, boomers or not. BTW, Boomers were born until 1965.
If you look it up it was used during a specific time period, referring to a specific group.

and until all of ours are taken care of we shouldn't be taking care of other who are coming here illegally. all of ours should be taken care of first.
Glad to see that you are so concerned with "taking care of our own."
I assume that means you support funding worker retraining, health care reform and expanding Medicaid to cover the working poor, raising the minimum wage.
Or, if not, how do you define "taking care of our own?" It's a collective statement, as you used the term "ours."

I'd put our VETERANS on the list as NUMBER ONE. Take care of them. NOW. The politicians should stop the fighting on posturing and FIX IT.
No more hearings.
No more committees.
Just. Fix. It.
As it is, IF they can't fix that, I don't trust them to fix anything else. They prove themselves to be a bureaucratic nightmare each and every passing day with the problems growing worse with each passing day, week, month & year.
AND then work their ways down the rest of a very long list. Prioritize. Concentrate. Focus. Get it done.

Quackeroo - you can fix this in Nov. when you vote. Just remember who were the obstructers and who were trying to do something.

Correction: Yuppies coined in the early 80s, referring to the baby boomer generation (born from '46-'65). (wikipedia).

If this American family is considered spoiled, it's because we worked hard at our chosen careers.

happy housewife . . . yea right dream on. look up the historical percentage of incumbents that are re-elected . . . over & over & over . . . we're talking decades not just one or two terms . . . it isn't some simple simon fix it by some silly suggestion to go vote in November. It is far more serious than that . . . far more serious . . . THEY ALL need to do the jobs they were elected and are paid to do . . . this includes the HOUSE and the SENATE . . . there is obstruction going on in BOTH by BOTH parties. IF you don't see that you need to take your partisan glasses off.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this.

You don't think you were particularly fortunate that you weren't born with any physical or mental handicaps - that you were healthy enough to work hard - that you had parents that were capable of teaching you the lessons needed to have a successful life or that you were born in the USA instead of somewhere that women are suppressed or where everyone lives in abject poverty, or that there is not a war of any kind occurring in your backyard?? The list of things that could happen that are completely out of your control is huge - and any one could have radically changed the course of your life. For example - a soldier who is injured and is now paralysed - or blind or deaf. What if your spouse was to die suddenly? Mine did and he was only 39 years old. Lots and lots of things happen to people that they don't expect - no one is bulletproof.

Though I was not born with physical or mental handicaps, I had my leg amputated when I was 16. I know I am not bulletproof.
