Thanks for starting this thread. I couldn't believe how fast it all went down. And to think that this animal worked in school with children. The school did say that there is a background check on anyone that they hire and he checked out. They didn't have too much to say to the news.

She has a 12 year-old brother and how sad for him.

The news is really doing a good job of keeping everyone up-to-date.

I am hoping to keep this thread going and follow the case, depending on how much it stays in the news. He doesn't go back to court until 3/19, so if it's buried too deep, I may start a new one.

I left my porch light on for Hailey last night, and will try to view some of tomorrow nights memorial online.

8pm central time. Those who can not attend are asked to light a candle for Hailey then.

The Remembering Hailey March begins at 8:15 CST tonight. The City of Springfield has joined in this effort and is helping arrange parking for so many people and, no doubt, will provide some security. The outpouring here is absolutely incredible. Many fund raising events being held, businesses giving percentages of sales, and servers in restaurants pledging tips all day today. Those are just a few of the things going on.

The search warrant produced one binder of inappropriate pictures of children. This won't let me type the actual word. They also took DVDs and computers, but didn't really disclose what was found there. They also found notebooks of handwritten "stories" which were described as "plans for a criminal act". They do not believe he has any connection to other similar crimes. He was well liked and a respected coach and teacher. Many looked at him as a role model for their children. He was very anti drug and incorporated that message into his coaching activities. Not one person has said they ever found anything strange or concerning about him. He had no connection to his victim through school or any other way. He had worked in the Springfield Schools for 15 years and passed checks every year.
