I haven't been on here a lot lately. I wondered if you all had heard this. I'm from Springfield. This happened not far from me. One of my friends is close friends with one of the detectives. He had been up and working 36 hours straight. The child is distantly related to one of my friends. It has not been announced here that she was not molested. Have only said she was shot and had ligature marks on wrists. The "suspect" will be arraigned in the morning. He will not appear in person; just by video. In this town, he would never make it out of the courtroom alive. Emotions are just too raw now. He has been placed on suicide watch.

The entire town has come together in an amazing way. There is a candle light march scheduled for Sat. evening. To make a horrible situation worse, Westboro Church has announced they are planning to attend and disrupt this tribute. The last time they were in this area to "celebrate" a soldier's death after he was killed in Afghanistan, they had to turn tail and run before they were able to disturb the service. A human barrier prevented them from even getting close to the church. If they do come, they may not make it out of the Ozarks alive. Please pray that this group of psychos does not show up here.

Because they a sick bunch of trash, Janna. I pray for this family and hope the community does help and support them in this time of need.

I am heartsick for this family. And I say this out of compassion -- certainly NOT blame on the parents. Sadly, our world has become a place where it just isn't safe for parents to let their children walk alone anywhere. There are too many evil, evil people out there to chance it.

meerkitty.....thanks for this information. Do you know what time the arraignment was set for....haven't seen it on the news yet..... That was a good idea to do it by video......can understand why the Judge decided to do it this way. Can imagine how raw the emotions are now. They said on our local news that she had not been molested.....believe that one of the news people from St. Louis asked that question, and he was told no by someone there.

Will be hoping the Westboro Church does not appear in town to interfere with this tribute to little Hailey. That would be horrible. If they do appear, hopefully they will get chased out of town really fast. Will definitely be praying that they don't show up..... for the sake of your community and Hailey's family. As you can tell by the posts on here, many folks are really upset about this.

He's not talking......so, we may never know his reason for doing this horrible thing. He may never tell his attorney why he did it. I really feel sorry for his attorney....as he is taking this murder hard himself. He was really emotional when he made his comments.
