Placed an order with Amazon - hate their tracking system, all they give you is a green line moving along to tell you how far the package has traveled.   Made a purchase early last week with four day delivery.  Said to be delivered yesterday by 8 p.m.  Nothing.  Went online this morning and they don't even show my tracking info.  Went into email they had sent me earlier and now it is saying "Delivery between Mar. 5-9".  I really hate that they don't give you a tracking number.  You have no idea how the package is to be delivered, by mail, Fed Ex or UPS.  Last order I will place with them.

What did amazon say when you put the product in your basket?  Is it possible you missed the date range during checkout?  It's always clearly stated on the page before placing an order.   It also gives you the option for faster shipping if it's available for that product.  I've been shopping at Amazon for years and never encountered anything but clear statements on delivery date and price.  Sorry, it sounds like a simple error on your part.

Re: Amazon sucks!

[ Edited ]

It said that the item would be delivered anywhere between March 5 and March 9.  It's only March 6.

Sure they said that it was going to be delivered last night, but until it's March 10, I wouldn't get upset over it.

Heck, a few months ago, I had an item that was accidentally sent to Seattle. Did I throw a hissy fit over it? No, I didn't. I, in fact laughed over it. I was like, "Oh, well, these things happen. Nothing that I can do about it. Getting upset over it isn't going to get it here any faster."

And eventually, it did arrive.

@CalminHeart - No, yesterday on the Amazon site it said "delivery on March 5, on or before 8pm"  No error on my part.  The green line kept inching toward 8 pm and nothing - just stopped.

@Plaid Pants2 - Yesterday their website clearly said "delivery - March 5 before 8 pm"  Today it says "Between March 5-9"  I really just wish they would give you a tracking number with whatever carrier they have chosen - that's my biggest gripe

Been my experience some stuff ships with tracking number, but, stuff like books don't. Anything is faster then Q though.

I have had packages say they were out for delivery only to find after about 8:00 it changes to being delivered the next day. I don't know if it gets to late for the UPS guy and he has to delay it or what happens.

Might be going Smartpost...which means they turned it over to USPS and it is going to be delivered by them and will take another day or 2...

Happens alot now...

I think you're the first person I ever heard say that about Amazon!

By the email they sent you earlier do you mean the dates given on your order confirmation?

From what you are describing if your order showed out for delivery/delivery by 8 p.m. the problem is with the carrier, likely UPS, and not Amazon.  Your anger is misdirected.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
