Oh Amazon how I love thee, but now not so sure....I needed to return an item, went on line to get my return label, they wanted to charge me 5.99 or I could take it to a ups store and they can package it and send it for free...so opted for that ...you have to bring the return code with you, she scanned it, took my item, put  it on a table I’m assuming with the label and said ‘thank you.’ I was like, ok, hopefully she’ll package it and it will be on its merry way.

So four days goes by, and I notice amazon hasn’t credited my account yet...usually with amazon, once a label has been scanned you get a credit even before it’s arrived back to them. So I called the ups store and she wanted to know if it was a return code item, and I said yes...she said Amazon has a policy now that we have to fill a large bin of return items before any returns can ship🙄 ok...so instead of doing it  the way I always did, print out a label, package my return myself and bring it to the ups store, where it’s scanned and shipped back that day and credited to my account usually before I’m even home, all for free, now it’s done this way....not loving it..I could do it the old way but then I’m charged. I also don’t love how everyone can see what item I’m returning...

I also don't like the idea of having to take it to a Kohl's store either which is one alternative.  Very inconvenient.

You can also return Amazon items to a Kohl's store, if you have one around you.

You don't have to take it to a Kohl's store. You can mail it.

I didn’t see an option for mailing it at no charge...I wonder if it’s the same deal with Kohl’s, they wait until they have a whole bunch of returns to send it back....I asked at ups when I called them when she thought the bin would be full so they could ship and she said Tuesday,  a whole week later after I dropped it off...

@Karie2022   I have heard they do it the same way at Kohl's.  This is also common practice for returns with QVC and most other large sellers now.

@Karie2022    I've done this with the UPS store twice now.  She scanned it, gave me a receipt, and I had my credit from Amazon in a cople of hours.  Yes, they wait until they have a full box to send it back, but you should have gotten your credit from Amazon that day.  Did she give you a receipt?  You need to call Amazon.

@Karie2022   You wrote the same story I wrote on this matter a few weeks ago, verbatum, it's funny.

But no it isn't. If you haven't already received your credit, getw/them online, CS request a phonecall, they'll phone you immediately. Explain, they'll see it's true and immediately credit back. It's a necessary hassle.

You should call Amazon CS because that is wrong.  They should have scanned your return label and you should have had your refund your refund.  That full bin thing is only about UPS returning things to Amazon.  It's not about the customer getting her refund.

Same here. I took an Amazon return to the UPS Store last week. She scanned the return code on my phone, handed me the receipt and by the time I got home, I had already received notification from Amazon that they had credited my account. I agree, I would call Amazon’s customer service,
